Gumbo was very tasty! I had the shrimp & I expected the shrimp to be a little spicier for Cajun restaurant but it was good. Husband had catfish poboy & said it was good. Had the okra & didn’t feel it was worth $5.00 but it got great reviews so I ordered it. I would not order again for my taste. Staff & service was awesome….helpful, friendly & we enjoyed visiting with them!

Parking: We are pulling a 26’ trailer & had plenty of room.

The place is nice, small restaurant/grocery store on the banks of the Mississippi, located between all the plantations in the area.
The cuisine is OK at best, almost everything is fried, especially the shrimp in the po'boy are fried, which takes away a lot of interest from this dish (grilled shrimp team!). The "homemade" hot sauce wasn't great either unfortunately.
We had alligator as a starter, to test. No interest, move on.

The outside is not much to look at. The food is oh so good. I had the best chicken and sausage gumbo. The shrimp and fried okra melted in your mouth. The owner and the staff were friendly and oozed with southern charm.

This is definitely a good spot and beats a good number of the restaurants back in the city.

Best part is that it is inexpensive and the people make you feel welcomed.

Restaurant/Store located right next to Laura Plantation: The staff was very nice and helpful, the food is good with lots of fresh seafood! The alternative of sweet potato fries is very popular. The manager is an aligator enthusiast, the decoration is typical!

Excellent food. The fried okra was ?. I was particularly impressed by the guy who was cleaning the table. A Creole guy named Ricky. He was fantastic, and I was particularly impressed by his educational background (PhD in law), as well as his artistic work. Tremendous guy.
