B&C Seafood Riverside & Cajun Restaurant

Enjoyed our time experiencing the south Louisiana Cajun food. This is a River Road nostalgic kind of a stop that harkens tales of hunters gathering for grub and locals stopping for food food & conversation. Speaking of food - if it's available, definitely choose the rabbit gumbo! If you're not inclined, the fried catfish, which is freshly caught in Lake Des Allemands, is a sure bet. Don't be in a rush when you visit. Stop & stay a bit for some good conversations.

Visited Nov 17, 2025- Time of the year affects crawfish - not available in winter months. So I ordered the boiled shrimp, despite being a huge tub of raw shrimp out front for display, told they were sold out. So I ordered the fried shrimp- the fried shrimp were very small pre-breaded. A bit disappointing.

I was charged for boiled shrimp and tipped in that, then the attendant came to the table to tell me she had credited the card because they didn’t have any. Then bought the fried shrimp and tipped again only to realize she credited the meal only and not the tip so they ended up with a 20% tip on 3 meals which just adds insult to a less than average experience.

My wife had the catfish poboy and said the fish was good and well prepared - bread-roll was soggy so she ate the fish and skipped the roll.

This is one of the only restaurants in the area so you’re stuck if you’re starving. Hold out for something else at least in the winter months. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again.

Best part of the visit was the selfie with the gator head cook!

Bathrooms were clean- for what it’s worth.

I drive to B&C Seafood regularly from Baker, Louisiana to pick up fresh live crabs. The staff is always friendly and very professional. The live crabs are fantastic with quality and price. The welcoming atmosphere that is always prevalent gets a big thumbs up.

After Whitney plantation visit (the best) this was a 5 min drive or so.
Staff so friendly, food was excellent, servings huge.
We all loved it

This was a completely unexpected stop. Our tour guide suggested it in between our plantation tour and swamp tour. We had been dying to try gator bites on our visit. So we ordered gator bites, and a bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo. Both were amazing! The gumbo was the bowl and it was too much for two of us to share! It was HUGE! The potato salad that is served with the bowl of gumbo is the best potato salad I’ve had. Would love to come here again! If you are on your way to Whitney or Oak Alley plantations stop at B&C Seafood. You won’t be disappointed!

This restaurant and market was amazing! They had a crawfish pasta special going and it was impeccable. The staff was incredibly friendly and make you feel like yall were old friends. Absolutely worth stopping in for lunch!

Bought a bushel of crabs this afternoon price was good but only a dozen crabs out the bushel were good!! The rest dead and rotten!! Press down on crab finger goes through it!
