Amazing crab cakes! Found this place a year ago traveling through. Came back again for the homemade food and hospitality. Capt. George remembered me and I was welcomed back like an old friend. Enjoyed hanging out on the dock messing around with his cast net after a quick tutorial. Ample room for overnight RV parking W/easy in/out.

I can't even explain how cordial our experience was with Da Pope and his entire family and friends. I spent maybe too much time here after Hurricane Katrina, but these people are as sweet as they come. I was a volunteer down the road, but treated us like family every day! Miss y'all!

Me and my travel partner spent days in New Orleans and the surrounding area eating from Top 10 lists including Galatoire, and small restaurants. De Pope had the best food hands down. Get the gumbo and the crab cakes!!!! I'm going back next time I'm in the area.

I visited this bar several times while on holiday in the New Orleans area. It felt like a home away from home - friendly owners, staff and locals who welcomed us and showed us the southern hospitality I’ve heard so much about. You’ve got to try both the crab cakes and Gumbo - you can’t go wrong and is definitely a bargain! We felt looked after and safe in this bar which was local to where we were staying. Even when we moved 45 minutes away for the latter part of our trip, we still went back to say goodbye and have one last great night. Myself and my friends couldn’t be more grateful to Sam and George for having such an awesome bar that became the highlight of our visit from the UK to New Orleans. Missing the fun times we had there, now I’m back to the UK and reality! Alex

Such a fun place! It seemed like a Cajun version of Cheers when I walked in. I didn’t get a chance to eat there but they do have food so I’ll be sure to come hungry next time!Great change of pace from New Orleans with much friendlier service and way lower prices. Highly recommend.
Sammy and captain George are the friendliest warmest people I was blessed with meeting, this place was my favourite place, with great people inside, that make you feel like family. I can’t recommend this place enough!

After 20 minutes of sitting no one came to see us even though I waved hello to the waitress we left to go elsewhere. We came from Canada to try their crab. Really disappointed :(
