We went to Teddy's Juke Joint based on many website recommendations. I'm not sure how recently they've reviewed their list of venues or been there. It was absolutely terrible. We were scared.
It's in the middle of nowhere. It is quite run down. We were the only ones there. It smelled dusty like an antique shop. The seats were busted. The floor was plywood in poor condition. There was no food. Sanitation was questionable. Teddy creepily stood by our table the whole time talking about conspiracy theories. The artist, Dixie Rose, was amature as best and talked to a YouTube audience the entire time in between playing. We left as soon as was polite because we were so remarkably uncomfortable.
Historic juke joint. Closed when I visited but very cool
One of the last great Juke Joints of the United States!
You have to see the photos!
One of a kind gem for music lovers
Nice time
All true blues fans has to be there!!!❤️❤️❤️???
Went there for the first time, great atmosphere and owner was awesome, hung out with me and my friend, let’s just say I will be back again
Iconic place, keeping the blues alive. If it looks like it's not open, walk in and meet Teddy, a great fella with lots of wisdom to share. The one of a kind atmosphere deserves a full house. Support local folks!
What an awesome place! It’s full of nostalgia and tons of cool stuff to look at. Teddy is a charming man who shares his vast knowledge, we had some great conversations on a slow Tuesday afternoon. I wish we could’ve stayed for live music, but it wasn’t in the cards in this trip.
Definitely a great place to hear some good blues, r&b, soul music, and occasionally a country or rock n roll song. Also has some good food and whenever there’s no band, Teddy a.k.a. the Painterman gets behind his booth and spins some good ole blues records! This may not be the hottest club in Baton Rouge but it definitely is AUTHENTIC and ORIGINAL.

OMG!! 100/10 would recommend!! We stumbled on this place on President's Day 2024. It's the best place for real Blues music. We got to spend time with Mr. Teddy and he was so kind and told us everything there is to know about Blues. If you live near Baton Rouge or just passing thru, this place is a just for authentic Louisiana Blues!
Very good music and fun time!! Thanks Mr. Teddy!!
Live music, comfortable place. Fairly friendly people. Plenty of parking. Menu of classics (Pork Chop sandwich).
