Taste is mediocre, quality is very low. Their food is very oily and they use cheap low quality oil and ingredients. I rarely have stomach issues with okay quality Chinese restaurant, but my stomach was not feeling well after having their greasy food. Definitely not worth the high prices.

We’ve recently started spending more time around the Brookline and Allston area, and this Saturday we decided to give BOS’ SiChuan Taste (一碟川菜馆) a try. First of all, it was surprisingly easy to find street parking nearby. After checking with the owner, we were happy to hear that they welcome well-behaved dogs to dine with you—our husky Max was able to sit with us instead of waiting in the car, which made our experience even better.
Unlike many other places, the owner and staff here are actually from Sichuan, and you can really feel that in both their hospitality and the food. The dishes were authentic and flavorful—especially the cold noodles, which reminded us of the real taste we’ve missed for a long time. The fish dish we ordered was also cooked in a unique Sichuan style: very refresh, tender and delicious, and with no fishy smell at all.
Even Max got treated to a bowl of ice water!
We truly loved the experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for real Sichuan food, especially if you want to avoid the crowds of Boston’s Chinatown.

Authentic Chinese Gem in Allston!
As someone who’s traveled to China many times, I’ve developed a real appreciation for authentic Chinese cuisine—and living in Boston, that’s not always easy to find. That’s why I was so impressed when I stumbled upon this humble little spot in Allston. The food is absolutely amazing—especially the duck and the Kung Pao chicken, which were both bursting with bold, traditional flavors. The atmosphere is simple, no frills, but it adds to the charm and authenticity. If you’re craving genuine Chinese food, especially Szechuan-style dishes, this is definitely a place worth checking out!

As people have said, the portions are so small, it's so overpriced.
Literally the best Chinese food in the entire Boston. I’m shocked that the rating isn’t way higher. It’s literally better than the sichuan food that I have in China!
A must try! Super authentic

First of all, their portions are very small and overpriced — the dry pot bullfrog costs $40 but is barely the size of a palm. Secondly, the food quality is really questionable. Every time I eat there, I end up with diarrhea and feel unwell the next day! I think other restaurants in Allston offer a much better experience for the same price — not only is the environment better, but the menu is more diverse and the portions are much larger.

Fish tastes like tilapia but way overpriced at $40. Everything is stir fried with extreme amounts of oil for no particular reason. We got the Sichuan Vinaigrette chicken and it was maybe 1/5 chicken 3/5 batter and 1/5 oil. It feels like they’re obvious with where they cut corners. Both Mala and Szechuan Mountain house taste better and even costs less
The most authentic Chinese restaurant in town. Well cooked dishes, very polite service and a pleasant atmosphere.

Restaurantji Recommends
The service is really good. They had option of hot sweetened soy milk as complimentary drinks, which goes well with the spicy dishes.
The sweet duck was crispy on the skin, the lotus roots and celtuce are fresh and delicious.
Would recommend reserve in advance, as it gets quite busy during the weekend.

Astonishing! My boyfriend and I came to Boston from New York to travel and eat Western food every day. Today we wanted to eat some rice, so we chose this restaurant! Ordered the dry-roasted fish Bobo chicken and sweet-skinned duck! The astonishing deliciousness of this dry-roasted fish made me go back to China in a second. The cooking is even more delicious than some domestic restaurants! What’s even more valuable is that the kitchen cooks everything to order. We can all hear the sound of the kitchen frying fish and cooking vegetables. It’s not like the Chinese food in New York where all the dishes are pre-made🥹🥹🥹If I still have the chance to come to Boston, I will definitely eat here again!

Foood tasted decent but portion sizes are very very misleading. Do not trust their BOGO offering on uber eats. It’s false advertising. Each portion is just 1/2 portion. So it’s not really bogo. We were able to fit BOTH portions into one container and still close the lid

This is my husband’s favorite Sichuan restaurant in the Allston area, and we tried some new dishes this time. The garlic pork slices were impressive, with a slightly chewy texture and a flavorful, rich chili sauce. However, the boiled fish was a bit disappointing—the fish seemed to be frozen, affecting the texture and taste, despite the thoughtful seasoning. Special mention goes to the excellent service. The waitress patiently helped us move to a warmer table and kept refilling our water and soy milk. Overall, the experience was a mix of good flavors and warm hospitality.
