Sakanaya Reviews
Love sakanaya!! They have the most beautiful fresh fish in Newton/Watertown/Wellesley/Weston/Waltham plus fabulous reasonably priced sushi!!!
Hands down, cheapest, highest quality stuff you'll find in the Watertown area, The owner Yoshi is so nice, he literally just handed me an extra piece of fish he was working on one night. Not sure if I came in at the end of the day, or because I spent X amount, but he straight up just gifted me this chunk of Tuna. Amazing owners, I will continue going back as long as I live in Boston.
The dish I made with the tuna and salmon I bought this week has never, NEVER looked or tasted as good as it did after buying fish from you.
Thank you!!

Sakanaya is a Japanese fish market known for its fresh and high-quality seafood. The market offers a variety of sashimi-grade fish, and customers can enjoy great sashimi options. There are specials in the frozen section, including fish trimmings and heads. A chirashi service is available for an additional dollar, where they will slice the fish and lay it over sushi rice for a customized chirashi bowl. Customers can also select from their menu for sushi or chirashi bowls at very reasonable prices. The market features other Japanese products like ramen paste, furikake, and seaweed salad. Sakanaya is highly recommended for those seeking fresh seafood and is known to have the best kaisendon (sashimi over rice) in Boston. The staff is friendly and the owners are kind, with fish chunks sliced for free. While some items like udon may be more expensive than other Asian supermarkets, the prices for fish are fair, making it a good option for what customers are paying.
