Visited Bisto 63 on a bussy friday night. The Risotto was to die for, the cocktails on point and the service splendid. Will highly recommend.

This is a bistro, not a super fancy restaurant. Bar on the left, tables down the center and right wall. But with that in mind, this place is AMAZING.
The food, the menu, and the service were perfect, from the second we walked in.
The Banana Bread French Toast had perfect texture and sweetness. The black and blue Flank Steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor (still sweet and full of flavor but not undercooked).
Everything came when you’d expect. No rush, no waiting.
FWIW, there is an old review that made us think twice about coming here and I’m so glad we ignored it. They either had no CLUE about what they ordered (thinking poutine would be mac and cheese), or it’s just way out of date.
We walked out impressed and talking about when we’re coming back.

Bistro 63 is an excellent spot in downtown Amherst! The food is always fresh and full of flavor, with creative dishes and great presentation. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is stylish yet comfortable — perfect for dinner with friends or a special night out. Super awesome food and service! The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and everything we tried was delicious. The flank steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor — hands down one of the best we’ve ever had! The cocktails were just as impressive — expertly made and a perfect complement to our meal. My husband and I cannot wait to come back to have it all again!

We had a lovely evening at Bistro 63. Burrata is one of my all-time favorite appetizers and this one did not disappoint! For entrees the Shrimp Risotto and Jerk Chicken we shared and were both delicious. Service was excellent and we can't wait to come back and try some other dishes.

I was disappointed by Bistro 63. I ordered the chicken bacon mac, but what I received was a chicken and shells casserole in a lukewarm watery sauce. I couldn’t find any bacon in the sauce either. For a chicken and shells casserole it was good enough to eat, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. Pictured with this review is the “white poutine”. Again this should have been called something else, maybe “loaded bacon fries”. It was okay, but it wasn’t what I expected.
Finally one last note. The server was trying to clean up the tables, and I appreciate that. I did not appreciate the server leaving the bottle of cleaning spray and the rag used to clean the tables right next to me and my party while we were making the best out of what was essentially a disappointing meal.

What to say? Upon entering, I asked if Bistro 63 accepted the Amherst chamber of commerce gift cards and was told that they did. Then when it came time to pay the bill it turns out that they did not. Hardly an ideal time to find out. Honestly, this is unacceptable. Add to that the fact that no one ever returned to offer refills on drinks or check up on us and the fact that the burger my colleague ordered had to be returned to get one that was cooked as he had requested and the whole experience was unpleasant.
Based on previous visits, it was not the kind of treatment that we had come to expect. It really does leave a bad taste in everybody's mouth.

The food was not appetising nor did it even look the part. Figured I’d try it out once but ended up paying & being dissatisfied in the end. Also I read how the owner responded to a recent low rating from a customer & it was quite unprofessional & condescending & the owner said that this customer only leaves 1 star reviews for restaurants but upon viewing his profile he’s left several 4-5 star reviews for other restaurant’s. The owners customer service skills are severely lacking just like the food being served in his/her restaurant.
