“This is a quaint and friendly coffee and breakfast shop with freshly made food, coffee, lattes, and other drinks along with pastries omelets and more. It appears to have many local regulars. My pesto omelet loaded with vegetables was so good but I had to take half home it was so large. There was not a crumb left by my friend of his French toast with strawberries and whip cream which was totally devoured by him!”

“This sleepy college town housed a surprisingly numerous Chinese restaurant scene, among other Asian cuisines. This appeared to be the pick of the lot, offering authentic Northern-style items including noodles. The option to order a tofu stir-fry seemed appealing, and indeed several options were clearly marked as vegetarian and vegan. However, the signature dish is a fresh sort of noodle distinctive to the region, and I was seduced by the distinctively springy texture and fresh flavor. It took around fifteen minutes to make those noodles, and while I was on a schedule, it was worth waiting for fresh food.”

“This cozy cafe has a great selection of pastries and savory dishes - plus great coffee and tea. My non-vegan daughter and friend loved it as much as I did. Highly recommended.”

“Wonderful ambience, great staff, surprisingly reasonable prices for the experience. Cocktails are next level; great selection of craft beers. I rarely go out to eat these days because things are so expensive & simultaneously mediocre/subpar in the post-COVID restaurant industry all over rural and semirural New England. This is hands-down the best ROI I’ve found in all of the Northeast, outside of Boston & NYC; stopped in by accident when Iya Sushi was unexpectedly closed. Just a beautiful place with decent portions of outstanding deliciousness at a sane price & a seemingly cool crew working there.Whoever manage/design this place know what they’re doing & offer a remarkable old school experience that middle class people don’t often get in 2024. ?”

“This one hardly needs a review because there's always a line and for good reason. We are obsessed with the yellow rice, and usually get the plate with chicken or falafel. An awesome meal. The sauces are super and the hots are very spicy! Love the pickled vegetables too. A local staple that I hope will remain for a long time.”

“Authentic Vietnamese food in a quaint, cozy setting. One of a handful of Asian restaurants in downtown Amherst, it absolutely belongs amongst the top of list. When we visited on a Friday afternoon, the dining room was packed. We thought 2:00 was going to be not so packed. We were pleasantly surprised. Goes to show just how great this place is. Despite the crowd, our food came out in minutes. So fast. And it was so good. Highly recommend.”

“Truly one of the best breakfast/sandwich shops in the area. I used to live in Amherst around 7 years ago and miss this place so much but got to stop in this weekend after a long hiatus. The breakfast sandwiches on a roll are so satisfying and the matcha is really tasty. Almost everything here is. Don’t skip the baked goods. And go look at their salt and pepper shaker collection.”

“I adore the Archives! Definitely one of the best mixology places in the Pioneer Valley. Classic and original cocktails are VERY well prepared. The speakeasy entry and old basement environment are very cool and surprisingly comfortable. I regularly drive half an hour out of my way to visit.”

“Went their for dinner with my wife, we'd been fighting and needed a place that was calm to bond over food. The place was chill and we found some calm in being surrounded by students. Thanks, better than marriage counseling...did I mention the food was hot, quick and delicious.”

“DELICIOUS! Let's start with the amazing tomato concoction that comes with the bread. I could eat that every day! The fish was delicious but OMG the scallops! Cooked perfectly! Our server was Fatma and just incredible. Her smile was very inviting and friendly. She interacted with my daughter who was here for a college tour so nicely. She was professional but also made us feel like we were interacting with a longtime friend. Thank you!”

“Atkins is a supermarket with seating next to the bakery. The deli has a big food selection and I tried a meatball and turkey reuben sandwich, a wedding meatball soup and a cider donut. It was pleasantly surprising to find international items, reminiscent of countries I've recently visited. The service for check out was quick, and it had a quiet ambiance. It didn't give a farm-like feel, except for the apple cider and soup offerings. The presence of a tourist map for exploration was appreciated. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I would definitely consider returning.”

“Fantastic Viet food. Ordered summer roll, pork banh mi, pork vermicelli bowl and everything was super fresh and delicious. Food was made pretty fast and was quite filling. Baguette of the banh mi was crisp and soft and the pork was tender and flavorful.”
“Excellent, freshly made entrees. Diversity of selection is plentiful from Peruvian to Chinese to Italian to Vietnamese to American to Japanese and Korean cuisines. Lobster and steak are available at least once a year. Arguably, the best university dining experience in America.”
“What a treat. We met some family there for lunch. Atkins is a market and so much more. They have a deli and they make great sandwiches. You can create the sandwich of your dreams on any bread you can imagine made just for you.We weren't shopping but we walked through Atkins to get to the deli and then back to the tables where you can eat. What is so wonderful and noticeable is the sense that Atkins is part of the community. The mix of people shopping or dropping in for a coffee is wonderful - everything from students to disabled elderly people like me. Young, old, black, white, all co-mingling in a glorious harmonic mix. I love the vibe.I loved the soup and sandwich. I loved the Market. I already talked my wife into coming more often to shop.Good job, Atkins!”

“This is a bar in fact, an Irish bar. The music was a bit loud, but that's to be expected in bar often. We were there for dinner.A large pretzel with 2 different kinds of dip was very good. As was the sweet potato fries. We also had a salad which was tasty and I had tomato bisque soup which was very good.”

The menu had a variety of choices and the ambiance was simple but elegant. The staff were on top of everything and made us feel very welcome. I wish we had a chance before graduation to have tried this wonderful restaurant. It is not very large so I suggest making reservations.”

“I enjoyed their ramen, but I think it's a little overpriced due to their adds on ($5 for extra chicken: literally 3 little pieces...), their special dessert was fabulous ?.”

“OMG There is overpriced and then there is insult to injury. $7.25 for a 2 shot latte is just insane, and according to your menu board makes no sense since a 2 shot large latte is 6.2?. The place was packed so maybe I am just insane. The latte was warm and had bubbles in the milk. Teach your employees how to think outside the box when charging , all that had to be done was ring up a large latte and note 12 ounce cup.”
“After two weeks of eating mainly seafood along the east coast I was in the mood for Mexican and lo and behold when I looked at the menu here they had enchiladas! They were excellent too. Matched perfectly with a cold beer. We sat outside and enjoyed the view which was a topper. Our waitress was nice too.”

“I get take out here all the time, and dine in often. Consistency of the coatings of wing flavor on the wing is not great, but never had to send it back to the kitchen. Sometimes there's barely any on, but other times it's almost too much. ALL Amherst Brewing beers are good. I think I've tried them all, except one or two.”

“First time there tonight and the pizza is phenomenal! We picked our own toppings and the pizza had LOTS of each topping on it. It was cooked perfectly and the crust is great. Price is great too. Definitely will be back to try more!”
“I really like their salad bar and that there are lots of veggie/protein/grain options, soups, and desserts. It can get very loud when it is crowded, but when the crowd dies down it is a good place to get a variety of good food and drink. The food servers could be a little friendlier, but the entry ladies and other workers work hard and are really nice. I wish they didn't have as many salad dressings with soybean oil.Vegetarian options: This is an Eastern private college, so there are many things a vegetarian can eat here, as well as some vegam options.”

“The appetizers were excellent, the warm olive and hummus plate was delicious and the little stacked chickpea logs very tasty. The entrees were somewhat disappointing, the delicacy of the crab cake was overtaken by the acidic slaw and the basil oil. The layered dish of tofu , hummus and eggplant was marred by chewy, dry slices of the egg plant.Service was ok but not remarkable.Very good espresso. Drinks at the bar were great.”

“This is very good Mexican food for the east coast. I got a chicken burrito and it was huge and delicious! I would recommend getting extra salsa on the side. The chicken was tender, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the beans were so flavorful! I wish there had been more salsa in the burrito, but overall it's very solid especially for being in western Massachusetts. Definitely the best Mexican food I've had in non-urban area.”

“One of my favorites of all time. Their croissants and cookies are to die for and their baristas make really great drinks. I don’t drink but I hear the bar is wonderful as well at night. I used to come in late at night in college and order a pot of tea and study or read. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been back and I love the newly renovated space but also miss the old space and it’s cozy vibe.”

“I have only ever gotten take out here but I love it and we get it all the time. Our favorite dish is the special spicy tofu, and we usually get veggies fried rice and veg spring rolls as well. If you couldn't tell already, my wife and I are vegetarian and are pleased with the wide selection of fresh and flavorful dishes! Not too greasy or too sweet, real flavor. We have also ordered dishes for friends that include the meat dishes and the beef lo mein seems to be a hit.I appreciate the convenient online ordering system, and the takeout bag is a grab and go table so no waiting in line to get your food or sign anything. I love this as someone picking up and am sure the folks eating in appreciate that there are not take out customers standing around crowding up the space. Very friendly and efficient process, good quality food and generous portions!Vegetarian options: Tons! There is an entire veg section on the menu, we live the special spicy tofu which I'm fairly certain is also vegan (no fish sauce or eggs) very very hot though!! ?Dietary restrictions: Plenty of Vegan, vegetarian, dairy free options”

“I lived the first 22 years of my life in the area, and frequently return to visit my parents but always felt like this restaurant was "too nice" for me to go to. My parents and I went last night to celebrate my mom's birthday and we had such a good experience. The food and cocktails are creative, delicious, and complex in flavor. We had the scallops and the steak and both were cooked perfectly. The signature grilled pineapple rum cocktail was also usual and excellent. Our waiter was just the right amount of attentive, and so nice. My dad is a talker and the waiter was very gracious listening to his stories about his own connections to the restaurant. Overall, our waiter gave us a very special and memorable experience, and we plan to come back for future special occasions.”

“I've been here twice on two different trips to Amherst! Every dish was a delightful journey into the vibrant and complex flavors of Thai cuisine.Starting with the pumpkin curry, it was a rich and aromatic dish with the sweetness of the pumpkin complementing the warm Thai spices. A very comforting dish! I couldn't resist trying the Pad Thai, a classic Thai noodle dish, which did not disappoint! The Siam rolls, we're one of the crispiest things I've ever had! The contrast between the crunchy exterior and the tender, flavorful interior likely makes them irresistible appetizers. I regret eating them all in one sitting but I knew they would be good in a hotel microwave. The chicken coconut soup, made with a creamy coconut milk base, kaffir lime, tender chicken, mushrooms, and other herbs and spices infused the broth with layers of complex flavors, creating a comforting and aromatic soup that warms the soul. Lastly, the Thai-style basil chicken pan-fried dish was flavorful with tender chicken, aromatic Thai basil, bell peppers, onions, and chilies. This is also a staple of mine when visiting a Thai restaurant and I loved this one!The service is great, very quick, and polite! I will return here whenever my next trip to Amherst is!”

“Hands down the best latte I have had in a long time!! I had a maple cinnamon latte, and the espresso was delicious. For lunch I ordered the triple bypass (I requested it hot which was great!).The cafe was busy, and unfortunately I was not able to get a table. They had a lively band playing and a couple dancing. There is a man who holds the door for everyone.I will say the menu and coolers were overwhelming with too many options. They offer everything from kimchi to cupcakes.Parking: There is metered street parking and a metered lot across the street”

“A little off the beaten path - that is, on a side street off of Main - is this small unprepossessing eatery. But what a pleasant find! Terrific falafels, gyros, baba ganoush, hummus, kabobs, and more - all delicious and served in a friendly welcoming manner. The proprietors are Syrian and they give these popular dishes a different - but good! - twist. For desserts, they have baklava of course, but also try their Syrian harissa (yes, harissa - not the chili paste, but in Syria it's the name of a semolina and rose water-scented syrup dessert). I had their gyro plate and it was very tasty; my wife's falafel pita wrap was equally good - nice fluffy and crisp falafels and a smoky baba ganoush; and my daughter really enjoyed the chicken kabob wrap. We'll definitely be back!”
