Judie's was not only a restaurant but a landmark. It was a sign of a lively downtown. it's been closed because of the pandemic and when many of the other restaurants in town reopened and served in reserved areas on the sidewalk and in the street, Judie's remained closed. I fear it may be closed permanenty. I wish the public had an idea of what was happening-- whether they would open aain or be sold to another owner.
Judie's was our favorite spot to hang out, while studying at Umass back in the days. My brother-in-law loved the popovers and applebutter and made a point to stop by Judie's every time we visit Amherst. Sadly he passed away last year. So this popover is for you Eddie!
The atmosphere was great, food terrific and the staff absolutely a delight. I highly recommend a visit to this establishment. The turkey popover was the best I've ever had. A truly enjoyable time, the girls and I will return frequently.
