Usually I rate limered 5 stars (me and my dorm mates have been regulars— we love our boba😋) buttttt recently after they changed their cups to the flat cups, they also stopped giving toppings. I usually order 2 toppings and there will be left over when I’ve finished the drink but it hasn’t been for weeks, yeah otherwise I would’ve rated higher. We miss our toppings😔still love you though limered
Hello boba tea favorite new spot!!!!
LimeRed Teahouse is a cozy cafe vibe that serves bubble tea, coffee, and other small desserts.
The staff are friendly, able to adapt to new orders, and keep the space cleanly.
The drinks are good, though some combinations may sound off when first considering it because they use multiple tea bases for their boba tea. The area has a lot of space to sit down though, and its a great place to study.
This place is always my favorite to get something small to go, or during less busy hours and academic year, I really love this as a study environment. Coffee shops are a thing.... But LimeRed has a positive uplifting environment yet leans towards minimalism that helps with not getting distracted during study sessions.
Word of caution: during finals, the tables can be pretty packed with all the students trying to study.
I love the waffle + ice cream + chocolate + pocky combo!! Their mochi ice cream is pretty good too (ok I'd be lying if not one of my favorites) and very photo-genic.
Bubble tea - tapioca bubbles are also good (pretty bouncy texture), as someone who's had it in a lot of different specialty boba places.
My friend had the fruit jellies (not popping) and I think vera ones? They were white, but she loved it!
There's plenty of options if you don't want any bubbles at all of course :)
Great tea, phenomenal macarons, and great service! They respected my low / no sugar request for bubble tea.

Cute work space and boba spot. We had Taro boba ice tea along with Peach smoothies for the kids, Oolong milk tea, Thai milk tea and peach tea with boba.

Lime red has been disappointing the last few visits. The last 3 times I have been there over the course of months the coffee machine is broken.. which it's been months, not sure if this is a McDonald's ice cream type of deal but it's disenchanting. Also service, wait staff isn't extremely friendly.

The tea here is mediocre but at least not downright disgusting (and grossly overpriced) relative to the other shops in Amherst. You generally get a good amount of boba, but 6.25 for a cup of milk tea that doesn't taste like it has much tea in it is a bit hard to swallow (pun intended).

We were the only customers. My 16 year old daughter, who works hard for her money washing dishes, was treated very rudely since she couldn't afford to tip for her drink. The two teenaged workers took 15 minutes to make two drinks and served people who arrived after us, and were verbally rude when we checked in nicely about our daughter's order. LimeRed and other cafes shouldn't allow their workers to see if and how much a customer tips. This shouldn't affect the level of service, and the drinks are already absurdly expensive. Pay your employees more and train them to be kind.

The most inconsistent boba shop in Amherst. Some baristas make amazing boba drinks while others serve lukewarm drinks with no ice (even when asking for EXTRA ICE). The nearby ViVi or Moge Tee are more reliable options.
Amherst location has ALOT more drink selection than the the Northampton location
Really good red bean buns. Get triple toppings with popping Boba, standard Boba, and lychi jelly....so good?
I’ve been here twice in the last 2 months. I likely won’t go again. I don’t like the completely hands off approach to ordering - non cash orders are done strictly through an iPad in your own. I had a few questions (do I still have to pick a dairy option if we pick coconut milk tea; how do I order a macron if it’s not listed on the iPad?) and the person working was not attentive to my questions and seemed annoyed. Sorry, but I’m not well versed in ordering so I’d like to ask some questions. Is that unreasonable? And I also don’t like the tip screen. I literally just walked up to an iPad, ordered myself, you got annoyed when I asked a question, and now I am supposed to tip? For what? The drinks are fine; service is not. There are enough other places that are happy to help and “teach” about their offerings.
An extra dollar for oatmilk? I'm not choosing to be vegan for fun so it seems unfair I'd have to pay the extra buck even if its only a dollar. Otherwise great products
