Lived in Amherst for 46 years and have had lunch/dinner at just about every restaurent. Panda used to be our favorite or near the top. The lunch I just had with another regular customer in town. Wew had the worst meal ever. Plates were small; portions a fraction of what they were. Plus the noodle/chicken dish was undercooked and had to be sent back. My organe chicken was only slightly better. The worst of it was the dumplings, which were doughy and tasteless. Why this disaster? We didn't recognize the staff. suggesting that this longtime staple's under new managment or ownership. Don't know which but do know enoough to warn you away.

NEVER come here for a formal event. My group put down a $300 deposit for a group of 25-30, and got stuck ordering $150 more than we wanted because there was an unclear $450 minimum for our group. Even if this was defined, this is still an unreasonable request, arguably demand. I repeat: absolutely do not come here. The drinks, the atmosphere, none of it is worth it as it was four years ago.

Went late on a Monday with my Grand Daughters. We had the restaurant to ourselves and instead of the staff rushing us they really served us very well.

This place is always amazing. I used to go here as a kid. And it’s still running smoothly, although it’s more geared towards delivery and pick up since Covid. The food is always so good! You can never miss! Please, if you want good Chinese cuisine, order from here!
I enjoy the dish with steamed fish & smooth tofu in a clear broth. It's mild but flavorful, I know they have other really good dishes but I seem to order it every time. It's simply delicious comfort food and the portion is enormous so I have plenty leftover for lunch on the next day

I used to go here all the time. Haven't been in a long time. I ordered sesame chicken, I got orange chicken. I ate it but it wasn't what I ordered. Also the sauce for the scallion pancakes was nothing but soy. No ginger,nothing. Boo. Not nearly as good as it was in the 1990's or early 2010's. Sad. I'll try again in few decades.
I just wanted to share the unpleasant service that I received at this place. The server didn't want to even identify Himself ??♀️ I placed a $47 order by phone To be delivered 3 minutes By car (15 walking distance away from the restaurant.), he said that if I wanted to add anything for my driver I said yes $5dollars Then he said just so you know your order may be delayed because he's going to see how much you gave him for a tip, the policy Says that your order has to be more than $30 in order to be delivered I guess they like to scam people even started to argue with me if I didn't like it that I could order elsewhere. Extremely rude service Said that l didn't like what he said I can go and buy somewhere else Never had this type of experience in this place. §I have gone here for many many years I am an Amherst Resident and I am so sad to share this with everybody. They are trying to scam people never buying from these people again bad energy negativity, and that doesn't prosper. I just wanted to remind you that tips are not mandatory. So please train your servers correctly to be kind and cordial to their Guest

The best darn place I have ever eaten at. Affordable but too quality food, as a college student who often goes out to eat but doesn’t wish to spend alot of money PANDA EAST IS THE PLACE TO GO! Owner is attentive both dine-in and take out, nice breath of fresh air. I love you panda east♥️♥️
