6 inch Devils food chocolate cake (rich chocolate cake w/ a caramel buttercream, topped with ganache). Amazingly perfect balance of rich sweet chocolate cake and caramel buttercream. This cake travelled well from Arlington to New York and was a smashing awesome hit with young adults *picky ones and also adults. Definitely has become the go to decadence indulgence.

Butternut Bakehouse is not only delicious, but they have incredible customer service. The week of Thanksgiving, we had a memorial service and many bakeries were unable to take an order for us. Butternut not only took our order, but they accommodated us in short time with allergy-friendly food items. We cannot recommend them enough. The coconut macaroons, blondies, a d carrot cake were brilliantly delicious!

Stopped by in the afternoon for coffee with a friend. The espresso chocolate cake was really good—rich chocolate flavor that paired perfectly with the coffee.

The atmosphere is good for quick catching up. Not bad overall.

Sticker shock! I just paid $4 for a cookie: an ordinary ginger molasses cookie. Now I remember why I have avoided this place in recent years. The prices are completely crazy! It's true that food costs have gone up recently, but nothing justifies paying $4 for a cookie - unless that cookie is really huge, or really very special. You can buy a bag of handmade cookies for close to $4 elsewhere. Management/owner certainly needs to rethink their pricing strategy.

The quality of the coffee, pastries, and customer service are high in comparison to their Belmont branch.

Speaking as someone who grew up a ferry ride away from Nanaimo, BC and who served Nanaimo bars at my wedding, these are the real deal.

I discovered this place because they were at the Acton farmers market last summer and loved their pastries. I went in person to get more of these and I wasn't disappointed. The pastries are still amazing, with an exquisite buttery taste.
Even more, their espresso coffee was everything one can hope for.
The service was nice and friendly and the place welcoming on a beautiful September day.
Would definitely visit again!
