Such a lovely experience here! The staff is so genuine, and the flavors were so balanced. I think most Americans can handle this taste. The goat meat was also really tender and not too fatty.

My husband and I have gone here more than any other restaurant the past few months. Always so good and the people working are so nice! Never disappoints.
We loved this small restaurant. The food is very flavorful and fresh, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. We had lentil soup, sekuwa grilled chicken appetizer, and the goat thali (which, by the way, includes amazing tomato chutney, bright and tasty) - everything was so good! We are definitely coming back for momo.

Delicious little Nepali gem of a restaurant. My friend lives close by and I met her and dined out front when I was dog sitting in the area. Good portions and very friendly staff

Amazing, flavorful Nepalese and Indian food ordered via delivery. Would not hesitate to order again if it weren’t for the portion sizes. The chow mein had only a few pieces of chicken and the paneer tikka also scarce amounts of paneer. Hard to justify for the price unfortunately

Makalu gave my spouse and me a great date night meal. The Paneer Tikka Masala was rich and creamy. The lentils were tender and fragrant. The chili momos were messy, with a bright, spicy red sauce with great depth of flavor. The music was too loud, but the staff lowered the volume on request. The restaurant was surprisingly empty when we came in, and they deserve more customers.

Everything is 10/10. The interior, the hospitality and the food. Chowmein, momo, and pani puri are a must if you go here.

Rolled in here for lunch on a Saturday with my family. Small space, super cute; with a bright, happy vibe. The menu is a mixture of Nepalese and Indian food and everything we had was delicious. Service was so chill and kind. Thank you for such a great meal!

Great chana masala! Happy to support a locally owned business
I highly recommend dining in at Makalu! We just had the best experience there for dinner. The vibe was amazing, we loved the ambiance, the owners clearly put a lot of love and labor into the aesthetic of the space and it’s beautiful! We also LOVED our meal. We split the Korma Paneer curry and it was 10/10. We got the garlic naan bread with it and that was delicious as well. We additionally got the vegetarian momo and highly recommend it! Lastly, we got the lava cake for dessert and that was an unexpected highlight. We loved it! The service was amazing, the space was relaxing, and the food was great. We will definitely be returning. I also highly recommend dining in vs. takeout - we’ve done both, and our dining-in experience is what shined the most compared to takeout.
Really nice little restaurant with great food, big windows, and lots of light.
