This is a review for Za’s gluten free pizza/safety protocols.
I am so deeply sad to write this review. I adore Za. I’ve gotten takeout from them every few months for the past few years and I’ve never had an issue. They are my go to and it’s been magic. They always write GF on the box and I’ve never ever had a reaction. Unfortunately, this all changed last weekend. They were insanely busy and I’m going to assume this caused them to slip up a bit. I ordered my pizza and realized they never marked GF on the box. The dough was GF though (my partner who has eaten both confirmed), so I decided to trust them as usual. However, I was VERY sick all night. I had to go home early because I was in so much pain. I am pretty sure it was a cross contamination issue due to the business.
It really breaks my heart to write this. I won’t go lower than 3 stars because Za really is so great, but I do feel obligated to warn people. It felt like a betrayal because I have been safe eating here dozens of times! But, given how painful the experience was last weekend, I may not order from here again unfortunately.

Fabulous service from Owyn, Hannah and George, I felt completely welcomed and comfortable as a solo dinner. Za has a wonderfully inviting and cosy atmosphere and was lovely and buzzy! The spiced apple sangria was a must have; so fresh and seasonal and the ham and pineapple pizza and chocolate brownie (the toasted nuts are a fabulous addition!) were delicious. I can't wait to return to such a warm welcome and try more of the menu. I thoroughly recommend Za for delicious food, equally wonderful service and that sangria!! Thank you all!

I was there for the first time last Friday evening for dinner before our movie at the capitol. I love the place, the service was very good, Owen was our server and the food was great. Great. Had a couple of glasses of great wine, my pizza I ordered was so good and I love the size. Size it's perfect for an individual. I definitely want to come back there with other friends or by ourselves but definitely love the place.

We were looking for a lunch place with healthy options, and when we poked our heads in the door, the friendly owner made us feel welcome right away. We ordered a salad and a small cheese pizza, and split them between us. The salad met our requirement for having something healthy, and it was generous and tasty. A "plain" cheese pizza can be a tough test for a pizza place, the cheese and sauce have to be tasty enough to stand on their own, and this pizza delivered with just the right spices. We were there at noon on a Saturday, it was quiet and the service was quick (I don't know what it's like in busier times). If you are looking for pizza and salad in the Arlington area, this is a good choice.
