Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream - Ashland, MA

Went there one night and had a fantastic experience. The employees seem like they were new by getting their foot in the door but they were both fantastic and wonderful to have witness the creation and making our ice cream. They were extremely nice and kind and explained everything to us of how to make our ice cream with the processes and whatnot. We asked if we could record and they emphasize that it was expected, welcomed and even asked about tagging them in a post. After leaving the shop and got a taste of our first time ever liquid nitrogen ice cream, our minds were blown away and we were delighted. Naturally unknown to them, we drove a little over an hour just to taste the ice cream and enjoy the experience from Somerville. 10:10 would do that again! Can't believe they never got a deal from shark tank with that amazing idea

Fun place to go to get delicious ice cream. Think of it as a modern version of Cold Stone Creamery. You get to watch them transform your personal selection to ice cream using liquid nitrogen.

The nice thing is they understand food dietary restrictions including Celiac. There were able to make a sundae for my daughter carefully avoiding any cross contaminations.

We loved it here and we'll be going back soon!

And the ice cream was absolutely scrumptious! It was so fun to be able to mix together any wild combination I wanted. It was ultra creamy and exploding with flavor.

Watching it be made was such an entertaining experience. I wish Google would allow me to share the video. I'll post it somewhere else because it's super cool to watch it go instantly from liquid to frozen ice cream. Such a cool experience even just to watch.

They are allergy-friendly! As a parent of children with allergies, I can't even count the amount of times our kids have missed out. Among the kids, we have dairy, peanut, tree nut, and sesame allergies. Generally, ice cream shops are never safe...NOT TRUE with Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream! Though some options are obviously not allergy-friendly, everyone in our party was able to find something that was safe for them - and the staff was excellent at explaining the process and pointing out options that were safe. If you have food allergies, Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream in Ashland is a gem! As a bonus, the kids loved watching the staff mix the ingredients and see the final product materializing. It was a great experience for everyone.

We had such a fun time! We have a few complicated allergies and the staff was so accommodating and helpful! Everyone was able to eat safely and the kids really enjoyed watching the process.

We never had nitro ice cream before. It's quite the experience to watch and the servers are 'creamaristas with the concoctions they execute based on your recipe!

I had a dragon blood and vanilla with m&m's, drizzled with chocolate. Delicious!

The service took a hit because "cleanliness" wasn't an option. It grosses me out when the scoop rinse water is clearly old and disgusting and they use them from there.

The kids themselves were awesome and knowledgeable.

Tasty treats, the entertainment from construction is worth the price of the ice cream. Stop in!!

An absolutely fun, exciting, educational and unique experience. At Sub Zero Lauren and Paul put the Science of Molecular Gastronomy right there in front of you to see and experience! They offered something for everyone from their bases, flavors and mix-ins to even delicious pup cups for our 4 legged friends!

The highlight of this place is not the ice cream but the passion, excitement and friendly smiles that Lauren and her husband bring to the community!

It is truly an experience and you have to give it a try!

Ps try the citric substance and agh mangos! You won’t be disappointed!

The staff here was so awesome and kind. I called to let them know that my son was turning 8 and they sang happy birthday when he walked in and set up a screen with his name and balloons (with only a couple hours notice too!). The ice cream was amazing and they had a flavor to love for each of our family of 5.

I give this establishment three Stars based off of five different people's opinions the food was a three and that's just based on ice cream in general they start off with a cream that gets Frozen with pumps of flavor from a bottle nothing is natural let that be said first secondly the service was a one if not a zero if that was on the scale duly because we had showed up expecting a certain level of service and the employees that work there just stood there staring at us as we were struggling to make decisions they could have helped us and guided us through the decision making process. If you were to ask for a multiple flavors of ice cream that would simply consist of adding two pumps of syrup into the same cream that also needs to be mentioned. Ultimately we felt as though the employees were timid and unable to provide adequate customer service. The flavors of the ice cream we're good though. And the atmosphere and all around feng shui was inviting and very clean
