I had high hopes for this inn's restaurant given the scarcity of quality American dining in the area, but left disappointed. The barrel-aged Manhattan was excellent—unfortunately the only highlight of our meal. The clams casino lacked generous toppings and delivered merely adequate flavor. Bang bang shrimp were properly portioned but unremarkable. My short ribs were surprisingly fatty with seemingly inferior cuts, though the accompanying mashed potatoes were decent. The chicken francese was good but failed to justify its price point. Desserts were the biggest letdown: an overly sweet Boston cream pie that bore little resemblance to the classic, and a dry carrot cake with an off-putting flavor profile. Service was adequate but lacked the warm, attentive engagement expected at an upscale establishment. For the price point, the entire experience fell flat.
Excellent as always at the COL BLACKINGTON INN! Service, atmosphere, and of course the food was perfect!
From arrival to the entree, it was 2 hours..we were not rushed and had salads but the kitchen seemed slow..it was a very nice evening with friends..Rosie was wonderful
Superb food and service. Highly recommend for a cozy night out in a rustic inn when you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or just relax with friends.
Well established restaurant, waiter was awesome sauce, and the fireplace was romantical. Food was delicious.
Everything was wonderful from the service to the ambiance to the food. Top notch experience
Our first time at Blackinton. After reading the descriptive attributes of the Inn, we tried it out. The historical architecture and decor were impressive. The food and service, top notch. The only discrepancy to the visit was the description online. . When using the terms casual ELEGANT and smart ELEGANT for the dress code, one would assume an ELEGANT clientele. The cozy dining area included patrons in sweat shirts and jeans. Either enforce your standards or lower the expectation to a high priced “Bar and Grill”.
After living in Attleboro for ten years, I've driven past the Blackinton Inn more times than I can count. I always said I wanted to go, but life, time, and responsibilities kept getting in the way. This year, I finally made it—and what better reason than celebrating my fiancé's birthday. The wait was absolutely worth it. The atmosphere feels like stepping into a beautifully preserved piece of colonial history, with art on the walls that makes you want to linger. The staff was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive, and every dish was delicious. I'm already looking forward to going back.
We had two servers. One who was cheerful and attended to our water and clearing dishes and our main server who took care of accurately placing our food and beverage order. Calamari and beet salad were both amazing! Upcharge for a few pieces of crusty bread and toppings for the baked potato side was annoying but hats off to our server for communicating this upcharge. Great wine selection and priced reasonable. We enjoyed the J Lohr cabernet for $40. Lobster bisque and ribeye entree were very good. I was not a fan of the duck; however, I should have read the menu to better understand that it was seared chunks of breast meat served with orange sauce. My preference is 1/2 duck so I also can enjoy some dark meat. Otherwise, the duck was served with a baked potato and a delicious sauteed winter vegetable mix. The white table linen was very nice; however, with the absence of a table crumb remover it took away from the total experience of fine dining having to either cover the crumbs with our plates or brush them onto the floor. For a quieter dinner experience, request a table away from the wall with the dishwasher on the other side. Our compliments to the Chef for the items noted as amazing and to the cheerful greeters when you arrive! Overall, it was a nice evening celebrating our 41st anniversary.
Food and service were outstanding. First time at this quaint spot. Salmon with walnuts was a great choice.

Our waiter/bartender was wonderful. Prime rib was overdone. Granted that I asked for an end piece. It was acceptable but dry. Sides were great. Duck was delicious. Wine list lovely. Looking forward to our next visit.
We love our yearly tradition of meeting friends at the Inn during the holidays. Dinner was exceptional as always. The atmosphere was beautiful & festive while the musicians added to a wonderful evening.
The ribeye steaks did not resemble a ribeye steak. They were so thin and overcooked. Everything was an extra charge very dissatisfied with the food and the service.
Food and service were great. Enjoyed that there was tasteful live music for Saturday dinner. Parking was a little tight, but otherwise an outstanding experience.
Was excited to dine in a historic home and inn was beautiful what a great place and the food was very good and service was piont on will be back again
