I had the beef and bean curd (Tofu). The food was cooked fine, beef could have been slightly more tender. But it was the most bland Chinese food I had ever had, I do not know how they manage to achieve the appropriate color while being so flavorless. You couldn't even taste soy sauce, let alone ginger or any spices or other flavors you would typically find in Chinese cuisine. Something positive I could say is the portion size was large
I also had the chicken fingers and beef teriyaki which were no more than acceptable typical Americanized Chinese food

Best Chinese food around
The absolute best sweet and sour chicken I have ever had! We go here on rare occasion as a treat, and even though it's a bit pricey, it's worth it for a date night. There's a reason this place has been around for so long. Absolutely would recommend trying!

Lately over the past year the food has gone down hill. Last night the pork fried rice was inedible. The color was so dark and it had absolutely zero flavor, which, i don't know how that happens. Complete waste of money. Its still full in my fridge. $94 for a shrimp lo mein, pork fried rice, general gaus and a pupu platter. And the platter doesn't even have crab rangoons. needless to say, after YEARS of being loyal customers, we won't be going back. We work too hard for our money to spend it on food we can't eat.

I had an amazing Christmas dinner, family event there two years ago I remembered it, and when I got stuck there today in that town looking for someplace to take myself and my family for what I thought was gonna be good Chinese from my previous experience I was very disappointed. It’s not the service. It’s not the ambience. It was the food. It wasn’t fresh when it should’ve been, there was only two people in the restaurant and we spent probably $70 or more. That shouldn’t happen to such a good restaurant when I had such a fun memory and thought about it for like two years After having my Christmas mealNow I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

Went to Mon Kou for the first time in 30 years. I wasn’t thrilled with the atmosphere, couldn’t figure out id it was a sports bar or an Asian restaurant. The food was good (crab Rangoon was excellent), drinks were good and strong but the service was excellent! There were six of us and we were a handful; one of us can’t have gluten and another was special needs. Our server, Danielle, took it all in stride with a smile on her face. She really went above and beyond!

So all I wanted was 2 egg rolls. When I went in to pay, the girl at the front gave me the total $7.49. I gave her $8.00. She said thank you and wasn’t going to give me my change. I said you owe me .52 cents. She said huffing “well we don’t do pennies here”. Well ok! Now don’t think I can’t afford 2 cents but it was the attitude and her thinking she wasn’t going to give me ANY change. Lived in the area my whole childhood and never went there. As an adult I’ll find somewhere else. Egg rolls were average.
