When we went in September 2024, the ice cream menu was limited and service was through a take out window. We were disappointed a bit as we called ahead to make sure they were open and nothing was said about the limitations. We had to each try something we didn't really want so it wasn't the best experience. In the summer it is a great place for ice cream and we enjoy walking down Main Street Hyannis.

My cousin and I ended up here because they were the only place open past 9 on a weeknight in September :) but it was a solid choice! I got the Cape Cod sand ice cream, which was delicious. The server was very weird about it, though - I asked what flavor it was, and he said he couldn't tell me because it was a secret. Like - I'm going to try it and figure it out, so that's not much of a secret :)

Nice place. They had an unusual flavor of ice cream, lavender and honeycomb!? It was really good.

The ice cream is very good. Unfortunately they don't honor their own policies. We ordered a lavender milkshake that tasted so strongly of lavender it was like soap. I can understand how some people may like this but it was way too overpowering for us. We walked out the door for approximately a minute since there were a lot of people in the store. We did not even leave the porch area and walked right back in to ask for a new simple flavor. Since they boast customer satisfaction and have an entire sheet at their counter detailing how they are willing to provide it. However they said since we stepped outside we are no longer eligible for this. Very disappointing for a 12oz milkshake that cost almost $8 and was bought less than 5 minutes ago... I wish they were able to honor this since it was so close to the purchase time and very very little of tje milkshake was consumed and obviously they do not have space inside the building for us to sit and enjoy but stepping out on their own porch is too far away from their store. We've gone so many times and we have always liked it. This wouldn't have been something we ask for unless it truly was a flavor that didn't sit well with us and they didnt boast such a policy... disappointed for sure.

I recently stopped at Katy's while visiting Hyannis, and I have to say, the ice cream was absolutely delicious! I had the Cookies & Creme, and it was packed with lots of cookies—just the way I like it. The lines were a bit long, but the staff was working hard and doing a great job keeping things moving. Despite the wait, it was totally worth it. I'll definitely be making a stop at Katy's again on my next visit!
I normally don’t go out of my way to post bad reviews, but I’m really annoyed by how the worker just spoke to us. We arrived at 930. Their Instagram posted their LDW hours - open until 11pm. There was 2 long lines, so we waited in one of them. 30 minutes go by and we finally reach the window, where the girl turns us away and tells us we have to wait in the other line (which was also very long) because her window is now closed. We asked why since we just waited a half hour, and would now have to wait in another long line.. to which she was very rude and immature about and said “well I turned off the ‘OPEN’ light” and slammed the window closed. There was a long line behind us so our whole line had no idea that “turning the open sign off” meant we had to go to the other line. Very weird. Very immature staff. Needless to say we walked away

I Waited in line for a half hour, when I got to the window I was told I had to go in the other line that was open an hour later for some reason which would have been another half hour wait. Girls working there are slow and rude. Also no prior signs stating that would be the case or I never would have waited.

Katie's Ice Cream on Main Street in Hyannis is easily the best ice cream spot on the Cape! We tried the limited menu window, located to the left of the main entrance—often missed by those heading directly inside. The Cookies and Cream and Death by Chocolate we had were exceptional. Alexis was friendly and knowledgeable, recommending flavors that perfectly suited our tastes. Amazing service and a fantastic local business you shouldn't miss!"
