Not Your Average Joe's - Hyannis

I would have given 5 stars but one of dishes wasn't that great but our waiter took care of it! The chicken paccata was the absolute best! Chicken was perfect tender hot! And the nachos were some of the best I've had in awhile. The bread and oil were also great! Great food for our family of 5! Our kids were also so well behaved I think because they couldn't stop eating either ☺️

The bartender Nikki was great, the special salad was so yummy! My fiances wings were made to perfection and the pasta we got to go looked sooo good!

Probably the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. The service was horrible. We were there for an hour and 40 minutes on Friday (not by choice but because our waitress barely ever came by). It was 5pm and very dead but she only came by a few times, we requested waters and she said “yes but it will be a while” and never brought them. My kid never got her food but we couldn’t flag her down until we were ready to leave and then she finally brought them. Just a horrible experience. We always tip even if the service wasn’t great but this was an experience where I wouldn’t have tipped very well, however, they force you to tip by including it in the bill so she got $30 from our table for literally doing nothing. So disappointing.

Perhaps it was the fact that our visit was during Christmas season where the mall is crawling with crowds. The atmosphere is nice tgere, its a developed floorplan and has an upbeat flair. Window sills coukd b wiped down, wine bottles on window sills make me wonder if the wine has actually turned to vinegar. It was strange. And we had two servers, neither of whom were very audible. We asked them to repeat themselves a few times. Its was okay, just not great like usual.

“A Shell of its Former Self”

The Not Your Average Joe’s I grew up with is gone. The prices have skyrocketed; the food is expensive for what it is ($23 for chicken parm, $33 for steak tips, etc.) with dwindling portions. Service is lackluster and food cook times are long (my chicken parm order took 30+ minutes). NYAJ’s was at its peak in the early 2010s before the remodel and COVID. NYAJ 2025 is 3 stars; not bad, not great. There’s better options around in the Hyannis area.

We went here with my daughters hockey team and they were great. We had 35 people total. We had reached out to them earlier about a reservation and they were very easy to work with. They had us order our food in advance under each players number. Then while at the restaurant we could add food and drinks under the players numbers so that each family at the end of the meal received their own bill. For the party our size we were in and out a little over an hour. Perfect set up for a team dinner.

Bartender was awesome 😎. Drinks were made perfect. Orders we're done in in a timely manner. Our food was amazing, chicken dumplings and the pork dumplings 😋. Staff were very pleasant and efficient.

Walked in at 7 and was told 45 minutes wait. The place was half empty. When we sat down, we ordered drinks and apps that tools forever to come. They were now out of one of the apps we ordered. They were out of the steak I wanted for dinner and out of the wine my wife wanted. Would not go back here

Exceptional burger, cooked to (rare/med rare) perfection. Juicy, flavorful, tender, delicious! Large patty… guessing half pound. Great find for true burger lovers. Fries are crispy, tasty and plentiful.
