Mexican restaurants can always accommodate our vegetarian and gluten-free preference. Sam Diego's choices were the most limited we've come across in our experience. Our friendly and attentive waiter did not know the menu well enough to help us and there was no vegetarian section or clearly labeled corn versus flour tortillas. We did eventually figure it out and portions were large but the food was just good enough. In a pinch, we would go back, but that wouldn't...
Absolutely a great place, food, and staff. Love going there and it is always a highlight of any day. They have some discontinued menu items that they will readily make for those that remember them. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Still My favorite restaurant still since I first went here about 15 years ago. I cant remember ever having a bad experience. The food is mouth watering great. Everything on the menu is so flavorful.. even the coleslaw... I cant get enough of and want some right now, thanks. The only only thing I dont like are the side of black beans but the queso in top is tasty.
