We decided to try the restaurant again for Valentine's Day. First of all, there was a weight line going in the door and we stood there for probably 20 minutes before we saw the host and she didn't even acknowledge us and look flustered it would disappear and we saw her again maybe 10 minutes later meanwhile we're all standing in a line. Nobody knew what was going on. Eventually, we were seated upstairs where we sat again for 20 minutes. We did see the way to come in once and deliver a check and he didn't even acknowledge us or say you know I'll be with you soon. We're a little busy tonight. Nothing we did see the bus person once or twice with silverware in his hands, looking like he was lost. We didn't have water. We sat for probably another 20 minutes and decided to leave. It was awful The parking lot was full. I understand they were busy, but it just looked like pandemonium with the weight staff. That was the last time that I will try this restaurant all in all it was about an hour and 20 minutes experience for nothing they have to get together in properly trained the white staff I don't Don't know how the kitchen is run, but the front of the house was horrible. I too wish I could rate a 0 instead of having to give them one star.

First time visiting. Wish we didn’t wait so long. The 3 course special for $59.99 sparked our interest. Started with warm bread served with a delicious olive oil creation. Chose the eggplant rollatini and stuffed mushroom for appetizers. The sauce with rollatini was excellent. Stuffed mushroom was so flavorful. Caesar salad was so fresh. Dinners consisted of veal picatta and shrimp scampi. Pasta was cooked perfectly. We both thoroughly enjoyed them. Finished with cannolis which were awesome. Presentation in all the dishes were noticeably a special touch. Pics of appetizers shown. Service was perfect. Such a great dinner and will be returning. Also the historic building is charming and cozy.

We had been many times before but it had been a long time. We brought our neighbors and they loved it! They felt comfortable and the food and service wonderful! Thank you. Ruth and Mike
We enjoyed another delicious meal with excellent value and outstanding service! One of our favorite places. Thank you!
Our service was exceptional but the food was mediocre. The shrimp scampi and the chicken piccata was swimming in liquid and disgusting. I would recommend a new Chef.
EDIT TO ADD - the chef/owner is a liar. He screamed at me over the phone, called me a pos and hung up the phone on me. All of which I have documented for OpenTable, and the Attorney General. He claims to have had 180 people coming for dinner, despite max capacity of his building being 146 people. He claims we could have left a cash tip when we were told specifically by the server that we had to fill out the cc slip tip portion prior to running, cash was not accepted. He claims that forcing customers to fill out the tip portion prior to running the credit card is because he chose to give his servers their tips at the end of day… Despite it being Massachusetts law that servers take their tips home same day.
If you look past all of the dishonest five star reviews that are made from disposable accounts, you will see that our experience was very consistent with the service provided at Villagio. As a matter of fact, there is a review from someone who went there for Christmas 2024, who had almost the exact same experience as us.
Go to McDonald’s, the food will be better, and the service will be much better!!!!!!!!
Went to a buffet that was 135 dollars PER PERSON. Our server attempted to rush us out after one plate of food. We were served warm and melted desserts, had to listen to the host and waitress argue over seating more people in the room (was told that was okay by the owner because apparently they are dating) and then the waitress forces us to fill out the tip portion prior to her running the credit card. It was very uncomfortable and inappropriate, and other tables had not been asked to do that. The owner claims this is policy despite being potentially illegal as he has to provide them with all tips earned by end of day. When I left a review with opentable, the owner called me and left two very aggressive voicemail messages. When I called back, he screamed at me and hung up on me. I would recommend going anywhere else!!

Dishes were creative and flavorful. Large portions too. Beautiful old colonial home converted into the restaurant, so many different dining rooms suitable for private parties like ours. Cozy, yet not cramped.
Our waitress was efficient but could have been a bit more friendly...it might have been a bad day for her, so giving a benefit of the doubt.

Always terrific Italian food and wonderful for a special occasion. The red sauce here beats anything I've had in years! Great menu with several Italian dishes, fish, and steaks. We've been here multiple times with family—never disappointed!
Horrible food, horrible service, an owner who screams at customers instead of taking accountability. McDonald’s is better.

Edit to add: I left the same review on open table, which is where we booked the reservation. I received two very aggressive very scary voicemail messages from the apparent chef/owner. I called back today to ask if it truly was policy to have all of your patrons fill out the tip prior to a card being run for the total of the bill. He screamed at me, and hung up on me.
We went for the Christmas buffet. It was $135 PER PERSON. Our server tried to give us dessert after one plate. When we told her we wanted to get another plate, she took our dirty ones and never gave us fresh plates (there were none at the buffet) and we had to take plates off of another table. Our server was inattentive, argued with the host about taking more customers in the completely empty room we were seated in, and ignoring the table in the room behind us who had coats on when we got there and waited over 30 minutes for her to bring their credit card back. According to the “chef” who replied to my open table review, the host and server are dating and “he talked to her the way I talk to my wife” which is completely ridiculous and a huge assumption to make. I guess he must be mean to his wife so he thinks it’s normal. Dating or not, the behavior was inappropriate and made us extremely uncomfortable.
Our server brought over desserts on a tray she had been showing all night…when we picked she gave them to us straight off the tray, otherwise she “would have had to go down to the bar to get more.” The desserts were warm and melted. Mine was supposed to be lemon jello I believe, it was completely liquid. We asked for the check when we picked desserts.
Twenty minutes after giving us warm and melted desserts, she finally brought our check. She requested that we fill out the tip portion prior to her running it. Very weird, awkward and UNCOMFORTABLE. It felt like she was holding our tip ransom, if we had given her the 20 dollars that we wanted to (which still would have been extremely generous for the service provided) that we would be stuck there just like the other table - their tip must have not been enough.
The “chef” who responded to my review claimed that it says on the bottom of the check that tips go directly into the bank account of the server. Why he thinks that is appropriate to put on a check, or has anything to do with asking your customers to fill out a tip prior, I have no idea. I have worked in many restaurants in Mass and other states, and never have I had tips go into my bank account OR asked customers to fill out their tip prior to running the card. There is something very suspicious about that. Especially because it was to “save time” according to the chef, but the POS machine was literally five steps away from us. And the other table waited over 30 minutes to get theirs back, so it’s clearly not policy.
The fact that instead of a phone call or an apology, I got a nasty note about how their workers are dating so it’s okay to make customers uncomfortable, and that it’s policy to have tips filled out prior despite that not happening to all tables, shows exactly what kind of people run this restaurant. I would be MORTIFIED to know my employees acted that way, and I would certainly not defend it.
I would recommend going to McDonald’s over Villagio Prime. The food and service will both be better, and that’s really saying something.

DO NOT GO HERE !
We went here for the Christmas buffet and I wish we’d never gone !
$135 per person for cold food, a cold restaurant where I had to keep my coat on to eat and the staff were incredibly rude!
When we brought up our grievances we were told they were running off a generator and had no electricity, that they had to choose what to run on the generator. The manager was rude, not even offering us a refund, instead telling us how much he hated the place and was going to find a new job.
We’ve had similar things said to us by previous staff on previous visits!
When we later talked with the owner, we were met with hostility and aggressive behavior, no remorse or apology were given to us, instead the owner was argumentative and rude regarding how our meal went and our concerns, not offering any refund.
Would not recommend anyone ever dining here.

Food and service were excellent. Tim was our waiter and one of the best I've seen. He was fun and engaging. We will definitely be back!
What I like about this restaurant is it's quiet! You can hold a conversation with the person across from you. So refreshing.

Went for Christmas Buffet dinner. Service was incredibly slow. Tried to give us dessert after one plate of food - buffet was $135 PER PERSON!!!! Told her we wanted to get more food, she took our plates and never gave us fresh ones (there were none at the buffet). Then gave us desserts that had been sitting upstairs for a while and were warm and melted. Brought the check about 20 minutes after we finished dessert and asked us to fill it out BEFORE she ran it? So she would know what her tip was perhaps? A nearby table waited for at least 30 minutes for her to bring back their credit card - perhaps their tip wasn't up to snuff. Food was mediocre at best. I would highly recommend going somewhere else!! Even on Christmas, local Chinese would be much better food and much more reasonably priced.
