Here’s why we need this place in Belmont. First, Jeff is a great guy! He gives young kids an opportunity to work there and make decent money for college or whatever. As the Mom of a 14 year old high school freshman myself, this is awesome. I’ve spoken to several of the young women who work for Jeff. They told me he is respectful, protective and incredibly kind. He also supports his workers in the kitchen. Jeff is a straight up decent guy. The bar itself is gorgeous. He built it himself. The crowd is local. I’ve only been going there about 2 months and yet it feels very “Cheers-ish” yes, they know your name. Yes, the locals are “glad you came” lol. I held off going in because I had read.a negative review about cultural appropriation. Not true (I’m my humble opinion) Jeff is the real deal. The food is delicious. The bar is beautiful. The sweatshirts he sells are high quality and warm. We need a place like this in Belmont Center. Check it out for yourself. Tell him Stephanie sent you lol

This is an excellent bar and restaurant that severs Jamaican style food including couch fritters, jerked chicken, and pork. Most importantly the owner Jeff is usually there and is the most friendly and knowledgeable owner of international cuisine and culture. He makes you feel right at home whether you are a new or returning customer. You will totally enjoy your food and company here.

Ordered 1/2 j*** chicken and the heart healthy salad with grilled shrimp. Incredibly disappointing. The half chicken was actually 2 thighs and a drumstick in some syrupy sweet sauce that tasted more like a store bought teriyaki sauce. The salad had 3 grape tomatoes sliced in half, about half a beet sliced, 7 blueberries (4 of which were past ripe), plenty of kale and the saddest grilled shrimp ever. If there's such a thing as 31-35 ct shrimp, these were it.The only reason I am giving 2 star is because the plantains were tasty.Call before ordering, tried on Sunday right when they opened and although they have 4 PM posted, "the kitchen needs 20-30 minutes to get going." Last night they were in such a hurry to close early one of the staff members told me I couldn't order take out and the kitchen was closed. Fortunately they finally understood that the only to-go order was mine.

Lots to offer on the menu but I couldn't get past the yummy starters so I settled on several for my meal! Conch fritters and the cheesy fries with shredded chicken were delicious and filling. Jeff brought out his 'secret' hot sauce and it did.not.disappoint!! My partner got the cod special and plantains on the side - both yummy. Super friendly service, outdoor dining and a rainbow made for a great date night. Thanks Jeff!!

Food was great, it's nice to have some spicy caribbean food out here in Belmont. Jeff himself is a great guy, mixed a mean drink and has certainly led an interesting life.

Go there just to talk to Jeff. He is such a homie! The food was solid and a very reasonable price. Definitely get the fried with J*** pork on top, it was money!!!

I love Jamaican food and wanted to like Jamaica Jeffs, but it was not to be. The j*** chicken tasted like airplane food, with flabby skin and smothered in store-bought Caribbean sauce. The j*** pork was similarly under-seasoned and covered with the same goopy sauce. These dishes lacked the spice and flavor associated with j*** seasoning. The side of rice and peas had green peas in place of the more traditional red beans or pigeon peas and lacked coconut and allspice flavor associated with Jamaican rice and peas. The plantains were good, and the service was friendly and enthusiastic, hence the extra star.

Just tried Jamaica Jeffs for the first time & it was awesome! Good vibe, delicious eats & amazing mixed drinks & great beer selection from the Caribbean! Jeff himself was there & made the infamous drinks! Very friendly staff! They also have good music & sports playing!

I can tell Jeff is a great guy and the service was nice. However I expected a much more authentic version of Jamaican food. Instead the j*** chicken sandwich tasted like something you could get in a tub at the grocery store, on a cold ciabatta bun. The salad was also boring and undressed.I unfortunately can't recommend this place.
