Waited an hour for cold sausage. Hope we don’t get food poisoning. Impossible to get waitstaff attention. Didn’t bring out everything we ordered.

Absolutely terrible service. I managed to place an appetizer order shortly after I sat down, but that was it. I actually had to get up and chase down my waiter to order food, because he was busy wrapping silverware, something that should be done before guests arrived (hint, hint, management). The server came over and took my order and didn't remove the dirty dishes from my appetizer. A second server brought my drinks and didn't remove the dirty dishes. A third server came with my food, and DIDN'T REMOVE THE DIRTY DISHES! He was going to put the fresh food on the same table with the dishes from the appetizer! I had to ask him to remove them.My order didn't even come with all the correct condiments as indicated by the menu, ketchup instead of stone ground mustard with my house frank. What a mess.I didn't even try to place another order after that, not that any of the various servers asked me. Just paid and left, never to return. It's too bad, because the food was pretty good, and the beer selection extensive, but I will absolutely not be going back. Their server training program is pretty severely lacking and management is not at all focused on running a customer oriented shop.

The food was mediocre and the prices were high. $8 for a 12oz pour of this, $12 for a 14oz pour of that, $10 for an 8oz pour of something else… it’s all on draft, so why not just make things easy and straightforward? This would be OK, but then literally half of my 12oz pour was head, so drinking the equivalent of 1 beer cost me $20. The food was nothing special. We ordered the fries, croquettes, currywurst, bauernwurst, and weisswurst to share. The sausages were all bland with a rubbery over-processed texture, the strongly recommended fries were not “heavily seasoned” (just salt), and the croquettes were OK but again very bland. Honestly, the food I enjoyed the most was the very small cup of sauerkraut that accompanied the sausages. As a finale, they automatically add a 10% service charge to all bills (which they clearly state on the menu), but then when the check comes the choices for tip are 15%/20%/25% and the waitress hovers over you watching, so you’re tipping 25% by default unless you want to feel like a cheapo. I spent $50 and found the whole experience unsatisfying, and I left feeling like I had been exploited and certainly won’t be going back.

There is something nice and family about this place. My 7 and 10 year old grandkids love it, hot dogs and root beer, interesting German type food for grown ups and great big beer selection. It's in a basement, lots of benches and picnic tables. We keep going back.

I'm sorry to hear the news that Trinktish will close for good December 31, 2023. The food is always high-quality and so are the beers and even the local sake is delicious. The upstairs dining room is a little bit loud, but very airy and spacious. If you have a chance, definitely get a table here before they close.

Trinktisch is an enjoyable "Beer & Food Hall for All" with a diverse selection of 30 local and international taps (plus a huge list of bottles and cans), presented in a large meandering space, and serving creative and flavorful Bavarian fare. While I'm generally not in search of Bavarian cuisine, Trinktisch has fashioned a compelling set of culinary options and attention to ingredient detail, that should tickle almost anyone's palette. Trinktisch boasts a large main room (with long community tables as well as smaller 2 and 4-tops), several more smaller intimate spaces, and an outdoor space that seats approx 30 people, weather permitting. In terms of the beer offerings, there's almost nothing in the greater Boston area that parallel's Trinktisch's Bavarian authenticity and robust assortment. With taps presented against an iconic stainless-steel backsplash, I'm sure to find several of my personal favorites, "Delirium Tremens", and Maine "Lunch" as well as previously undiscovered brews rarely found elsewhere, including, as of late, "Hitachino Nest Yuzu Lager" and "Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Imperial Dark." In short, Trinktisch is place of fermented malt discovery. What distinguishes this space -- apart from the delightful variety of beers and the engaging management style of owners Suzanne and Kate -- is its compelling food offerings: Trinktisch kitchen serves up outstanding high-quality and innovative Bavarian comfort food, soups and stews, sandwiches, salads, and of course, several hot dog and sausage varieties:. I would highly recommend the House Dog (a Kayem Weiner made from pork and beef), House Frank (100% beef), and the House Wurst (a Schiller & Weber pork & veal bratwurst), each served on a well-executed toasted buttered bun. Try Kate's smash style burger which locks in caramelization, accompanied by a creamy special "comeback" sauce, or Kates Deviled Eggs (traditional with a twist as the recipe adds a sprinkle of Old Bay), and especially Kate's flavorful Mac N Cheese (Cavatappi pasta tossed with a 5-cheese sauce: asiago, cheddar, fontina, parmesan, and Romano, topped with buttered breadcrumbs), not to mention a hearty beef pie, featuring carrot, celery, onion, garlic, a medley of pepper spice, and tomato, topped with creamy mashed potatoes and parmesan cheese. Create your own beer flights, mix and match, and experiment with a variety of flavors and styles. As a bonus, Trinktisch is co-located with a craft beer store that carries one of the widest selections in the land. If you enjoy community fun, one can participate in Trivia Night held on Thursdays, or attend other events such as "Flight Night", "Arts & Drafts", live music (need this option more regularly), Industry Night (very occasional and haven't attended one yet), and educational activities such as a "Beer Tasting Workshop." Trinktisch also offers beer/food pairing evenings every couple of months, co-sponsored by various regional craft breweries. I attended a couple of these events including a pairing with Maine Beer Co (Freeport ME) and Von Trappe Brewing (Stowe VT). These events are both delightful and informative. Not sure if still there, but one of the many rooms housed a Foosball table and maybe even ping pong. One of my go-to places that more people in the greater Boston suburbs need to experience.

Our experience at Trinktisch was somewhat disappointing. We ordered the schnitzel and specifically requested the sour cream sauce to be served on the side. The staff member who took our order confirmed this request, but when our food arrived, the schnitzel had the sour cream sauce on it, contrary to our request. We brought this to the attention of the staff, who did apologize and offered to correct it. However, when the corrected dish was brought back, it was clear that the kitchen tried to remove the sour cream sauce and quickly refried the schnitzel, as evidenced by the fried sour cream sauce on the underside of the schnitzel. On a positive note, the beer selection at this restaurant is quite extensive, and it's one of the few things that stood out positively. So, if you're primarily looking for a wide beer selection and don't mind paying a premium for okay food that might have been pre-frozen, then this place might be worth a try. While the service was courteous in handling our concerns, the initial mix-up and the quality of the schnitzel left us with a less-than-ideal dining experience. Hopefully, they can improve their attention to detail and the freshness of their dishes in the future.UPDATE: The management team did reach out to apologize for how things were handled. However, the explanation that the high school kids who were cooking and serving were unsure of what to do in the moment and panicked does not reflect well on the restaurant. While I appreciate the honesty of the management team, it's clear that I won't be revisiting Trinktisch if I ever have a craving for German food.

We swung into their lower hall for a bit to eat before heading into Boston. The have a beer hall feel in the lower hall and serve a lot of international beer and meals. It gave off a very Belgium vibe. They care about what glasses you get your beer out of and served a lot of sausage and schnitzel style meals. The prices were very accommodating as well, you could see many families willing to take their kids here. Their sausages, hot dogs, fries, pretzels and grilled cheese were all a big hit. The attached craft beer cellar also gives a nice touch to bring home something special and different with you after enjoying some pints with dinner. The staff was friendly, though a bit slow to deliver a Duval (15 minutes). But that was the only downside. I'd go back if I'm in the Belmont area.

Delicious German food, reasonable. great service, nice and cool in the lower level! Enjoyed it all. Tried some German beer, which we liked too!

The food was decent but boy was it hard and annoying to get it.Regarding their system for ordering, it is not clear how to use it and the waiters are NO help whatsoever. Would be better if they were trained to help customers instead of ignore them.Won't go again even though it's exciting to see a different cuisine out there. Just wish it was better executed.

I'll start from best to worst. Food is ok. Not bad, but very overpriced for what you get. Fries are nice and crispy. The location is in a basement of a building, in front of a store. So atmosphere is below par.Service is horrible. You have to order online on your phone, and pay on the phone. They don't come by at all to help, and don't even tell you it's done online. You have to ask around or figure it out from the QR code.If you order a flight of beer, they don't even bother labeling the beers. Each one has a tap number written down, you have to open the menu on your phone and count 22 beers down the list to check which drink you get. If you order multiple flights in your group, theres no way to separate out which beers are in which flight.Food also takes forever to get made. 20% tip is mandatory, even though they don't even serve you. Overall would not come again.EDIT: I thought I'd add some information to address the owner's response. I think it's pretty telling that their response is that I must have the wrong place. I described the place correctly, said that they use QR codes to order correctly, and stated their mandatory 20% tip policy (even when there's no service) correctly. Yet somehow it's my fault - I must be dumb enough to accidentally review the wrong place? There aren't many places around named Trinktisch. Maybe next time instead of blaming the customer, take it as feedback?Yes, they do have a couple employees walking around. It took us 5 minutes to wave one down to order, and they were the ones to point us to the QR code. We asked to order through them, and they questioned us on why we couldn't use the QR code like everyone else around us.I don't have photo proof that they use numbers for their flights, not even sure how to respond about that. We asked a server if they could tell us which was which, and they were the ones who told us to count down the list. We thought it was hilarious as we've never heard of such a ridiculous suggestion. Also not sure what to say about the slow service. We went on a Wednesday night, half the tables were empty. I think it was just slow in general, but I'll give it some hard numbers so it isn't a subjective statement. For a quick dinner for 3 people, we arrived at the restaurant at 7:01PM, received our food at 8:07PM, and left at 8:41PM.

It's great to have authentic German food and a huge variety of beers around the corner in Belmont! Prices are pleasantly a bit undermarket as well, and, unlike every other restaurant in Boston, there's no hidden post-pandemic "kitchen fee." The servers tend to be very young but highly attentive. Everything we tried was delicious: yummy deviled eggs ($1 each!), perfect seasoned potatoes, a bratwurst/weisswurst dinner with sharply spicy mustard, a huge schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The beers come in several sizes, making it easy to create custom flights or focus. It's hard to leave room for what sound like excellent desserts. Maybe next time....
