We came here while we were visiting salem and it was the best part of our whole trip! We ended going there both nights we were there. The food was amazing!!! Kayla, Josh, Sean, Brett, and Tom were absolutely so amazing! It was just my friend and I, and the bouncers there made us feel so safe, they made sure we got to our uber and left there safely. The bartenders were attentive and so kind. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!!

by far one of the best bars i’ve ever been to. food was amazing, drinks are cheap and strong, place was super clean. what won me over was the staff though. kayla and josh were very attentive and extremely friendly, tom was a big help also. the bouncers brett and sean were also so nice and very observant. you can really tell how cared for the customers are. came from nj to visit salem, but will seriously only be returning to visit this bar again.

Don’t waste your time or money. Lobster was overcooked and very bland. It was all shrunk up in the claw. No meat hardly. Clams were not good. The clam chowder was very fishy-not good. Scallops were fried and dried out. Over cooked. Waitress was not friendly and we had to ask for drink refills. They were taking plates and table mats before we were finished.

A great deal on lobster! We visited while on vacation, specifically for the lobster! We started with the clam chowder, which could have been hotter. Not cold, but needed a little more heat. The lobster was fresh and hot! Our server was very attentive. Keep in mind that this is a pub and grille. Our table was adjacent to the dart area. We had several instances when we got in the way of folks playing darts.

The Anchor Pub and Grill is a lively spot with a classic New England vibe. You can't miss the huge bar area—it’s large and well-stocked, and the beer selection is great. Plus, here’s a detail I really appreciate: their non-alcoholic drinks are cheap. It’s nice to see a place that doesn't overcharge if you’re the designated driver or just skipping alcohol.

Oh yeah...the seafood is amazing. We had the scallops and shrimp, and they were cooked perfectly. You have to get the fries too; they are crispy and delicious and the perfect savory complement to the meal.

Overall, the Anchor Pub and Grill delivers a great experience—a strong social vibe, high-quality food, and fair prices. I highly recommend checking it out.
