““Pure Pastry” was highly recommended by “Cakes for Occasions” because they couldn’t make a Vegan cake. So I called and asked Kim to make my son who is a Vegan an all Vegan birthday cake. We were all pleasantly surprised at how delicious and moist his chocolate cake was with vanilla cream frosting with strawberries in the middle and on top was. Five people ate this cake and we all loved the taste. It looked beautiful too. Another thing I also love about this bakery is the cake box. The cake fit in the box very nicely and on the top you could see the cake through a see through film which was an elegant touch. My son’s cake was so good that I had to order a Vegan strawberry vanilla cake for my birthday too. I can’t wait to get it. Kim is so very friendly and such a nice person and she is very easy to get a hold of on the phone. I very highly recommend Kim and “Pure Pastry” for all of your pastry needs.”

“This place far exceeds its 4.3 stars. After reading some of the negative reviews, most of the complaints honestly don’t seem very valid. The burgers here are fresh, flavorful, and consistently good.

Yes, they can get busy, and that sometimes affects timing, but what restaurant today isn’t dealing with staffing challenges? What stood out to me is that many of the servers have been there a long time, and as someone who spent nearly 30 years in hospitality, that says a lot about the place.

Don’t let the star rating make your decision for you. Give this spot a shot, you probably won’t regret it. The Royal with Cheese is my go-to every time.”

“I’ve never been let down here, not once. I’ve made special requests based on specific sushi ingredients I’ve loved from this spot, and they’ve delivered. Their fish is fresh, and of great quality. Their service is consistently quick and delivers exactly what you want with no BS. Best of all, their sushi chef is a silent badass that will make you the most unreal rolls you’ve ever tasted. Trust them and enjoy yourself!”

Our server Carolyn was absolutely amazing- she was so diligent with the allergies at our table and took the time to recommend things that would fit all of our needs. We will definitely be back and would always request her. Food was amazing, huge portions, flavorful, and came out so quickly! A must in the area! The only down-side was parking, but we figured it out!”

“The Back Beat Brewery is the absolute best restaurant around in Beverly. They have a variety of delicious sandwiches, fresh brewed coffee, & hand crafted beers & awesome Pizza at good prices too. The have live entertainment some nights, a great friendly wait staff, and nice atmosphere with clean bathrooms. Its also spacious inside with decent tables & chairs too. Game boards at the bar. They are so kind and welcoming to every single person that comes in. Aside from that, the coffee is AMAZING! They have so many different flavors to choose from and you can customize any drink however you like (even if it's not on the menu). Also, the breakfast sandwiches... wow. Get 'The Stallion', just trust me. Prices are completely reasonable. Honestly, no other coffee place I've been to even compares. I'll be a longtime customer!”

Staff is incredible. I recommend booking a function there if it’s available. Fantastic space with handicap parking out front. And a great place to visit overall and they have room in the back for smokers!!

“I’ve been eating at the Beverly Depot for special occasions my whole life, and it has never been anything but wonderful. The atmosphere is unique and cozy, the staff are all professional and genuinely friendly, and the food is always delicious. The salad bar is my absolute favorite and something you don’t see much anymore. We visited for my mom’s birthday last week and had a lovely time. My stepdad adores trains, so he loved getting to watch them go by as we ate. I can’t recommend the Beverly Depot enough!”

“Oh my goodness!
I was driving through the Cummings Center in Beverley and realized that it was lunchtime and I needed something for lunch. I drove by one of the office buildings, 100 Cummings, and noticed a sign in the window that said Grass, Market sandwiches, salads, etc. I was like OK sure, I'll grab a sandwich.
I walked in and then saw that they had a lot of ready, made sandwiches and soups, and salads, and I was ready to walk out because I needed to have some thing made fresh for me as I'm a pain in the neck and don't eat a lot of the garnishes that are put on sandwiches. The woman behind the register asked if she could help me.
I told her it was my first time stopping in and that I was curious if I could get one of their sandwiches made my way. She indicated that the one that I referenced was premade this morning, however, she offered me two other options.
The one option that she offered me was the Caprese Panini, which I added chicken. This was the most delicious sandwich I have had in a very long time.
The Panini itself was amazing, the chicken was so so tasty, then the basil and the mozzarella I mean really what more can I say.
I'm not sure how long they've been there, though I do know it is indeed owned by an individual that really needs the support of the community to stay in business.
That's the way these small local shops operate. They need us to support them so that they can continue offering us such amazing food!
