The staff were extremely rude as soon as I walked in. Felt so uncomfortable I only ordered a glass of orange juice and went somewhere else. Happy Holidays
This place has delicious food and generous portions. We had a burger and chicken Milano sandwich and were not disappointed. The fries and onion rings are super tasty and crispy. Great service too!
Good tasting fresh quality food. Nice service and affordable prices.
Parking: Lot of parking reserved for John's restaurant.
Great Greek food, large portions and very reasonable prices. You can't go wrong eating here .
Parking: Parking across the street
If you have not tried their breakfast yet!!!!You need to! Best breakfast in Beverly….Hands Down!!! Owners are awesome. They appreciate the history of the building and love to tell the stories they’ve been told of the old Grover’s by all the locals. I am one of them …I think one of the secrets of why there breakfast is so good is the old saying you can’t beat fresh products. Thanks for doing what you do!
This place needs to be rescued by Chef Irvine. We should have known as soon as we walked into this depressing empty restaurant. We should have walked out.The Chef doesn’t have a clue which makes me feel bad. This was the worst Greek / Mediterranean food that I have ever had.The Souvlaki was petrified on a stick. The Gyro was pre cut, reheated and dry.The spanakopita was horrible as the rest of the food tried. What a waste of our night out.
Our favorite sit down breakfast restaurant in Beverly. The pancakes ard made correctly every single visit and it's huge! The scrambled eggs are light and fluffy and hot!
My friend and I came here for the first time for lunch this past week. Spinach pie was on the menu! We were psyched for it! My friend got the spinach pie with lemon potatoes wedges and coleslaw. I got the sampler of spinach pie, gyro and keebobs. We topped of lunch by sharing a piece of the best baklava! We both were amazed with the serving sizes and the reasonable prices! Fantastic flavors and wonderful waitstaff! Definitely worth a trip back, and soon!
Terrific Greek food. The lamb is so good, tender and flavorful. The owner will greet you and the staff is helpful. Plenty of booths and table seating besides the bar. Both Greek and American dishes. Stop in for breakfast too!
We've ordered take out a number of times and everything has been delicious. From sandwiches to pasta, the food is great. The pasta dishes could have been from any fine Italian restaurant. Friendly staff, generous portions and fair prices.

Ate at John's Bar and Grill on Cabot St. in Beverly tonight. It was out of this world!!! The egg lemon soup was the best I've ever had. For my entrée, I had Moussaka with Greek salad and roasted potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! The prices were VERY reasonable, and the portions were quite generous, including the wine pours. I'm a big eater, but I took quite a bit home for tomorrow's lunch. One of my friends had the spinach pie, which she really liked too. I could tell by looking at it that it was fresh, crispy and cooked to perfection. I'll have to try that next time! Service was excellent. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. No problem getting a reservation earlier in the day. There were only a few tables occupied and we were well spaced out, which was good for me because I'm still not totally comfortable with indoor dining yet. Parking is readily available in the lot right across the street. What more could I ask for??? I left wondering why it wasn't more crowded and why I don't go there more often, as it is consistently excellent when I do go. I will not wait so long to go again. If you haven't tried it (or haven't been in a long time), I can't recommend highly enough that you give it a try. It is quite a gem!!! Spread the word!
My wife and I had been looking for a good Greek restaurant on the North Shore ever since our old favorite closed, and John’s more than fit the bill. From the opening appetizers of the deluxe sampler platter and avgolemono, to the stuffed grape leaves and pastichio dinners, and finally the incredible Greek pastry desserts, everything was five star. John was a polite and welcoming host, and we will definitely recommend and be back.
I think the food is too sweet. The service is not good. If you go expecting these two things, then you will enjoy the experience and the food.
I had an excellent pastrami sandwich and the gyros looked awesome. Friendly waitstaff, quick service! Recommend it
I feel bad for this place, but idk how they stay in business. There was noone there at the bar. Didn't see how many customers on restaurant side, but I'm going to give them a chance by going to breakfast as I thought the prices for breakfast wasnt bad. But did pay 15$ for 1 beer and a screwdriver. I thought these drinks were very expensive.
