Very glad we tried this place, we started off with horchata and chicken empanadas. The horchata was pretty good, I like it with a little more spice to it, but it's a good portion size and not too sweet which I like. The chicken empanadas were amazing they were so crispy, had great flavor, and it came with this great sauce to dip it in that added a nice spiciness to the adobo chicken. Then for the main course I got the pork arepas and my girlfriend got the Mexico city tacos...
There's a reason they advertise their alcohol more than their food. The food isn't always bad, but it's wildy inconsistent. I've had perfectly enjoyable tacos here before. But half the time it tastes like they're serving me something that's been in the back of their freezer for the past 3 years. Would not recommend.
My wife and I decided to try La Qchara on the last night of the Beverly Dine-Out promotion (8/24/25). I chose the prix-fixe promotion and got the beef empanadas, Quesabirria, and churros with vanilla ice cream. All were very good, and I would definitely order again. My wife got the MuyRico bowl with salmon add-on, and she took half of the large portion home.
I'm not sure if our server was inexperienced, but she never came back to check on us to see if we needed anything...
