Amikado in Beverly, MA, is the kind of place where you come for the "all-you-can-eat sushi" but end up leaving full of...rice. Seriously, I’ve never seen so much rice on sushi in my life. I felt like I was starring in an episode of Extreme Carbohydrate Consumption. Fish? Barely saw it. There was fish on the sushi.
The ambiance? Let’s just say it’s about as exciting as the waiting room at a DMV. The highlight of the night was watching a large party in the hibachi section having the time of their lives having sake sprayed on their faces, while I tried to figure out if my waiter thought I was invisible or just a huge inconvenience. It was my second time here, and once again, service was as enthusiastic as a sloth on vacation.
But hey, AYCE sushi options are limited around here, so I guess I’ll come prepared next time—with a miniature trash can for all the extra rice.
Hibachi cook extremely funny, making the visit extraordinary awesome

We ordered take out for 25 people. Food was yummy but I definitely ordered took much. Reasonably priced. They were even able to accomplish by making some gluten free dishes that everyone enjoyed.
Dietary restrictions: They made three gluten free dishes

Had the Sunday all-you-can-eat eat special, the sashimi was good, tasted some of my wife's sushi roll, ok and the 9 seaweed salad was ok and skimpy for the money . Service meh. Overall overpriced 100$ for 2 specials, a seaweed salad and a bottle of Sake. Live and learn.

It is true that ONE CHEF was trying to cook for 2 tables after finishing the 3rd table. He valiantly tried to do his job, BUT: the 3rd table was very boisterous, which ruined the atmosphere for our family reunion gathering; he repeatedly banged the knife on the metal cook table which made for very frequent ear-piercing noise (one person in our group is very sensitive to loud noises, and she eventually ran out of the dining room to get a break from the cacophony); when they finally finished the chef tried to cook for the other 2 tables at once, which ruined the experience for both tables; the chef did not have the entree for one of our party so she had to just wait for him to get and then cook her food (so much for a family meal); the "waitress" was not friendly; we chose to tip 15% on our $300+ bill but were told that their policy was at least 20%. To top it all off, the fortune cookies were STALE. Never again!

I must admit I am puzzled by the reviews here . Been to many many JAPANESE sushi restaurants across the US, this one is below average at best. Sushi need more fish and less rice! Rice need to be freshly prepared and moist! My sushi both maki and nigiri had this what looked like cylinder of presses terribly dry rice (obviously they use some kind of plastic molder to shape it!)
Even the wasabi was so dry!
I don't mean to be negative but if your really appreciate quality sushi THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!

My wife and I came in to celebrate a birthday our hibachi chef ming was incredible he gets 5+ stars (we tipped him personally) bur overall we were treated very rudely by our waiter we felt ruhe waiter shed after we told him it was a birthday he told us soup and salad which I'd included in our dinner meal was on the house for birthday which like I said was included in our dinner meal price, the waiter kept rushing is to leave asking me to pay multiple times when we were in the middle of eating/drinking/celebrating yhen proceded to ckean with bleach and chemicals while we were still eating, wnen I asked for the manager they said the waiter was tired we were loyal customers fir years but after this experience we will not be back (we tipped Ming our hibachi chef but not the waiter hope he learned his lesson) never coming back horrible terrible stay away
One of my favorite places for Asian food, whether it's takeout or dining in. Never been disappointed with the food, and the service is attentive and prompt if you decide to sit down and order.

Chinese food is very big for me, huge fan. I could give you 10 places to come before here. Nice and annoyingly loud buzzing coming from dining room, corn in fried rice?, crazy greasy food (pu pu), and some questionable tasting items. how can such easy staple chinese appetizers found in a pu pu plater taste so bland? i cannot speak for hibachi side of things but as normal chinese, there is much better around.
