Chef/Owner Alex and his team is absolutely fantastic. My husband and I had our welcome drinks event on Saturday evening at Sala Restobar and the team went above and beyond to make the event a success. Communication and set-up was perfect(we used the drink rails and it was perfect for our 20-25 group). We had two amazing waitresses who were fantastic as we put in multiple orders of appetizers and drinks for our growing party. The live Jazz was perfect- not incredibly loud so can't have a conversation but super fun. The food was absolutely phenomenal with many of our guests raving about all the baos( especially the cheeseburger, porkbelly and and mushroom baos). There were fantastic vegetarian options as well with sweet potato dumplings and shishito peppers being a huge hit. We also really enjoyed the drinks(with espresso martini and ruku being huge favorites for our guests). We could not be more grateful and appreciative of how hard the team worked to make sure we had a wonderful start to our wedding weekend. We will definitely be coming back to eat more of the lunch and dinner menu.

So we came into town tonight, three of us for the Salem Halloween festivities, we needed to grab a bite and choose Sala. I gotta say we choose very well. Max, the hostess/server/mixologist, was very cool and spot on with her recommendations. The owner was a pleasure to speak with, and the two other gentlemen that bused and brought out food were very personable. The food was 10 outta 10, the atmosphere is relaxing, and inviting. The cost was appropriate. Give this place a try. Don't overlook Sala. We are definitely glad we stopped in. We wish you much success and recognition. You guys have earned it.

I’m struggling writing this review because I’ve had previous experiences that have been great. The food is consistently delicious but recently I feel the service has been lacking. When I sat down at the bar, it took a bit for the staff to clean up the glasses, plates etc. the last patrons left. Additionally I wasn’t asked about my food order for 10 minutes and I sat with an empty wine glass for at least 15 minutes. The chef/owner ultimately served me wine. The staff is very nice but there’s no sense of urgency to serve. I will try again and hopefully will have a better experience next time.

Excellent food. Great environment. Very clean and very friendly staff. Owner is very hands on and clearly cares about the overall experience
Unfortunately the bar wasn't staffed properly so drinks took forever and you could see empty drinks everywhere. Our waitress was lovely and very apologetic. Food was good but nothing super special. The drinks were good when we got them so if I had to go back it would just be for drinks at the bar.

Amazing dinner and service from Laura B. We had a group of 11 (ranging from teens to seniors) for a birthday and we couldn’t have asked for better. We had a solid 80% of the menu family style and everyone cleaned their plate! Would come back in a heartbeat.

We went to Sala Restobar last night for a close to home somewhat quick dinner out. My boyfriend is a big fan of pork belly and I searched my local facebook dining out group for the best pork belly and that is what led us here.
My boyfriend (who is also a chef) said it was some of the best pork belly he’s ever tasted and was so on point and nicely done! The bartender was also our server, but that didn’t matter because sadly at 8pm on a Saturday night we were the only two in the entire restaurant (except the live Jazz band that could use a little bit of a tune-up).
We got some Chicken Fried rice to share and it was amazing, as was my Mushroom Sobi dish.
My only “complaint” was there were not many non-alcoholic drink choices (I don’t drink but love an iced tea or soda when we go out) and they didn’t have either and when I asked what other non-alcoholic drinks she could offer me she said “water”. ? My BF had a couple of beers that came quick and she was very observant to bring him a second just before his first was empty, but again, we were the only ones in the restaurant.
The server/bartender was politely rushing us through because she had stated they close at 9, despite the website and google saying they were open until 11, so I would suggest double checking their closing time prior to your arrival if you’re planning a later dinner.
The owner and head chef, Alex, came over to us before we left to thank us for coming in and make sure everything was great. I didn’t mention to him about the lack of non-alcoholic drink choices because it’s not a deal breaker for me. The food was phenomenal and our server was great too. He truly seemed to care about our experience and was very eager to hear any feedback whether it was positive or negative. Definitely seems that he’s striving to be amazing and give his guests the best tapas style meal with an asian twist! The special little homemade chocolates that came with the bill was an added testament to their patron focused dining experience!
We would absolutely go back based on our experience last night.
Also the prices weren’t too bad. Very aligned with what’s out there. For two of us the bill was around $90 for three shareable dishes and a few beers.
I didn’t get a picture of the pork belly bao buns cause he dug right in ?
Dietary restrictions: They were very attentive to my boyfriend’s seafood allergy!
