I had really high expectations after seeing all of the positive reviews. Maybe we just didn't order the right things. I got a two Maki rolls, both were very rice-y. Couldn't really taste the seafood. Was hoping for more authentic Japanese style sushi. There was a mixup on my drink, as well. These things happen. Our server was nice. It was nice to sit outside, as well.
Way more focused on initial presentation than service or value. Spent a pile of money to be ignored by our waiter (drinks never refilled, dirty plates left to stack up on the table, check came before dessert was served) and ended up leaving still hungry. Portions were tasty but tiny. There are less trendy but way better sushi restaurants in Beverly alone. I'll be going back to Kame or Blu Karma.
Everything tasted fresh and high quality. The service was also stellar, our server was super nice and answered all our question. The restaurant was also quite beautiful and modern. Highly recommend this place for a nice lunch or a date night.
I Love everything about Taku Sushi Bar in Beverly, MA This gem shines with its clean, spacious dining areas, inside and outside seating. The expansive menu offers a delightful variety of dishes and sushi at reasonable prices with generous portions. The owner Chef Jerry’s personal touch, such as preparing a specialty dish for us like the Grilled Salmon Truffle Crostini, truly sets this place apart. The quality of food is exceptional, fresh and tender with so much flavor in every bite. I thoroughly enjoyed the Salmon Teriyaki dinner, miso soup, and Spider Maki.
I can’t leave out the exceptional service from waitress Jasmine which only added to the wonderful experience. It's no surprise that Taku Sushi Bar is the top-rated sushi restaurant in Beverly, MA. Don't miss out on this outstanding dining destination!
I Highly Recommend!
Outstanding nigiri, hand rolls, Sakura salmon (with citrus ponzu) and service! The sushi and its presentation are superb. Every bite was a delicious experience. There are tables and the sushi bar. Locally, it’s the first time I’ve thought I could eat at this restaurant every week.
I was there tonight for the first time, we love sushi. I had read the reviews before we went and was hopeful that they were true. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was outstanding and the service was very attentive. I am GF and they have a GF menu (fabulous)! We had the himachi shoulder that was outstanding, a rainbow roll, lemon salmon, tuna roll and edamame. Generous portions and reasonable priced. We will be going back soon to try other options on the menu.
Dietary restrictions: They have a gluten free menu.

This place has excellent service and food. I’m vegetarian and I love that this place pays as much attention to the quality of their veggies as the quality of their fish. Love their veggie rolls, perfect every time.

I doordashed and the fish still had some skin left on it. They also hardly gave me any ginger. I always get the same rolls from other sushi places and this place just tastes off. As in not good. Not sure why this place has 4.9 stars I’m very disappointed
Came from out of town and saw the reviews for Taku sushi so decided to give it a try.I was pleasantly suprised, honestly thought it was better than a lot of the sushi i have back at home! Service was outstanding as well, Julie made sure our visit was very enjoyable. All our food came quickly and well prepared. Would definitely recommend to any of my friends going to the area, as well as would come back if im ever in the area again!

Came across Taku while exploring Salem with an out of state friend. Delighted by the quality, taste, and creativity of the menu. Our server Julie was attentive and made excellent suggestions, particularly the chili garlic hamachi and the Suzuki carpaccio. The chili garlic wasn't too spicy but overflowed with flavor while still showalcasing the freshness of the fish, and the truffle on the Suzuki carpaccio was an enticing complement to the dish. The salmon on fire is theatrical, and the raspberry sauce it comes with adds a wonderful, light, sharp contrast to the smokiness and fattiness of the salmon. Julie also made great suggestions for pairing sake with our dishes. Overall, best sushi I'd had in Massachusetts and a reasonable fraction of the cost of some other places
