This place is awesome! My girlfriend and I stopped in tonight, and both the food and drinks were A+ delicious. There is a full room stocked with a huge selection of board games you can play while you eat/drink, plus a separate bar area if you're just looking to grab some drinks and food (or do friday karaoke!). There is definitely something for everyone here including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options for food, and great seasonal drink choices. Staff was super friendly and willing to help pick a game, so no sweat if you're there to play game! We'll be back! Great place to have in the neighborhood

Stopped in for lunch, and was delighted with the place. Friendly, attentive, service. The soup was yummy, made in-house, and Kevin, the co-owner, came by our table to see if all was good(it was!) We had just a light lunch, but the menu looked interesting, and we will come again.
Lots of games stock the shelves for those wanting to play (for a small fee). The many tables for four would be ideal for mahjong, btw

Seems like a fun place to play games. Staff and management were very nice.

Unfortunately, Cannot recommend ordering any food. (Chicken tenders arrived raw.. among several other issues)

That being said, staff did their best to make things right. So would definitely still return for at least the games!

Great gluten free options,
This is where I met my wife, proposed to my wife, brought my son years later.
So yes I like this place,

We recently celebrated my sister and brother-in-law’s wedding and reception at The Castle and the experience was nothing short of amazing. Although weddings aren’t something they typically host, they welcomed us with open arms and went above and beyond to make the day seamless and unforgettable.

From the planning stages to the final moments of the celebration, every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and incredibly helpful. They allowed us to bring our own board-game themed decorations, which helped us make the space feel personal and unique for the wedding itself. The food/drink was absolutely delicious and it was a big hit with all of our guests. Our entire micro wedding party loves board games so it was the perfect atmosphere to have this celebration.

The Castle itself is already a fun and inviting place but what truly made the event shine was the dedication and care of the people who worked there. They helped us transform a unique request into a beautiful reality, and for that, our family is deeply grateful. A huge thank you to Aeryn, Elliot, Zee, TJ, Max, and so many more.

I cannot recommend The Castle highly enough. It will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

Mixed feelings on this place. I really want to love it; who doesn't love a boardgame cafe? But they really need to get their act together in terms of service. Most times that I take someone here, after our initial orders are taken it's nearly impossible to flag down a server again. There have been multiple visits where we've all finished our food and game, and are just sitting uncomfortable for like 30-45 minutes waiting for the wait staff to reappear. The food is decent, but often they get orders wrong or forget items. The tables are also much too small to accommodate both food and a game. So usually we would get 10% of the way through a game, and then wholesale just have to abandon it when the food comes. Even if all we ordered was appetizers.

That said, great selection of games and quality drinks (the secret D20 drink menu is always fun!) Sadly doesn't make up for the downsides, and we've stopped coming here

Approaching the door it had a sign “sorry we are closed” so wasn’t sure if the place was open. The initial person who we asked if open he said yes and was very welcoming. Gave us the choice where to sit. We ordered, the soda was extremely flat. Water was warm. The food was ok, fish and chips the fish was extremely oily. No one ever came back and asked if we needed anything else. Never offered refills. The atmosphere was cute. Setting was nice. We waited and waited over 30 mins for the check they never came over. We had to go find them to pay the bill.

Such a great spot. Even if you’re not looking to play board games, the food is so good it’s worth stopping in just for a meal. The crispiest French fries I’ve ever had

Perfectly chill, nerdy and accommodating. Progressive, LGBTQ friendly, dog friendly. Great variety of drinks, beer and cocktails. Insane amount of board games to play in house or to rent for home use. Lovely medieval decor And wall art. Wheelchair access. Patio seating available. Separate bar downstairs. And a secret hidden door to find!

Great fish and chips. The brussel sprouts appetizer portion was HUGE. It was a touch underdone but still good. They have an amazing board game selection. This is the kind of place to spend 4 hours trying out new games.

Wasnt our type of food but gave it a try, what really got me upset was, the girl never brought us water refills, had to ask a couple times for conndiments, she never brought napkins and when i had a question about the food, she said she would ask but never came back. The games were ok but really 6 bucks a person when you already spent almost 100 bucks on food with bad service. Would i return, probably not.
