Abe and Louie's is my all time favorite restaurant but this was one one bad experience. The porterhouse was the worst cut of meat I've ever had in an upscale steakhouse. I couldn't even cut through a portion of it with a steak knife.
We celebrated our 50th anniversary with a dinner at Abe and Loui's. The waitress and server made us feel very special!
Sat outside. Beautiful day. Paul , our server was excellent. Food, plentiful and well prepared.
Drinks at the bar were delicious. The ribeye was perfect medium rare and delicious. My wife said “best swordfish fish ever”. The waiter was very helpful choosing a great wine that didn't break the bank. The only negative was desert. The vanilla crème brûlée was very heavy and the whipped cream was over churned. Highly recommended!
Upon our arrival for our anniversary dinner, the staff was accommodating. I love the menu - it never disappoints. I treated myself to a glass of champagne (perfectly dry), and a glass of Opus One Overture from the Sommelier Pouring Menu - absolutely divine!
Everything from the service to the most delicious food was amazing! Same & Louie's never disappoints!
As first step they bring medium rare but cold steak As second (to fix) they heat this steak to well done As last one (to replace) it was not even blue rare This is three times of my visit this place First Only one And last
Only saving grace to this place now is the wait staff. Salads took over an hour and were borderline inedible. Don’t get me started on the steaks they were just as bad. Not a manager in sight. Our server tried their best to remedy the situation but they needed some support. Unfortunately it was no where to be found. Probably won’t be back in all honesty. Sad as we’ve been coming here for well over a decade. Oh well.
So much of their menu is soooo damn good. I love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone trying to really spend a bunch of money and indulge.
Lobster Dumplings - Good. Not a fan of the sauce, but the lobster dumplings themselves are good on their own. However, dish is crazy expensive for what you get.
Crab Cake - Highly highly recommend. This was probably one of the top dishes I tried here. Remoulade was nice. The bits of onion and corn & tomato salsa was a real nice addition.
New England Clam Chowder - How I expect good clam chowder to be. It was pretty good. No complaints.
Caesar Salad - I've had better caesar salads from other places. Also have a preference for smaller crouton pieces and normal thin shredded cheese. The cheese in this caesar salad were a bit too big for my liking.
Ribeye Cap Steak - I heard that ribeye cap steaks are better than regular ribeye steaks. After trying it here...it's indeed true. Expensive though!
Lobster Mac & Cheese - Sizable portion. Good amount of lobster meat. No super large fishy pieces of straight lobster claw. Also creamy. Dish was pretty good.
Creamed Corn - I'm a fan of creamed corn, but I haven't tried many creamed corns since I rarely see restaurants have creamed corn. Creamed corn here was pretty good.
Thick-cut Smoked Bacon - Pretty pricey, but also pretty good. The Bell pepper relish adds a really nice sweetness. Blue cheese taste is pretty faint so a nice minor addition.
Faroe Island Salmon - Got it pan seared. Green beans were good. Salmon was phenomenal. However, I hated the mustard glaze sauce.
I never complain but I went here for the first time because me and my husband likes to try different steakhouses and I wanted to celebrate my birthday they not only were mad rude from the jump but we were sent upstairs where it was loud obnoxious bunch of kids running around they sat a couple next to us super drunk to where she spilled her drink all over to where it got on my leg andddd the best part is the server had no intentions of coming back over to take our order overall it was so bad me and my husband got up and walked out 10/10 don’t recommend they don’t deserve 5 stars and they sure as don’t deserve business

I LOVE this restaurant. The surf and turf is my favorite, but the French onion soup is close behind. The appetizer shrimp cocktail is unmatched, and I grew up in Florida so I am no stranger to shrimp. Truly a great value for the price, which is not cheap given the atmosphere and exceptional food. You'll pay a lot, but it's worth it. I've been 3 times and will go again for special occasions. Expresso martini and cocktails do not disappoint.
Absolutely wonderful experience!
Everything at this restaurant was incredibly professional. from the delicious drinks and food to the overall atmosphere. What truly stood out to me was the behavior of the staff.every single person was kind, welcoming, and had a genuine smile on their face. Their positive energy made the whole experience even more enjoyable and definitely motivated me to return. Truly a lovely place in the heart of Lovely Boston that I would highly recommend!
Great food and service and what was probably the best stuffed lobster that I have eaten in my life. A bit noisy (there was a Red Sox game that evening), but overall a great experience.
Sonny at the bar. Enough said.
Wonderful experience for our anniversary! The service, the food and the atmosphere was perfection. Looking forward to returning again for another special occasion.
