Love it. Fun cocktails, although I’d be embarrassed to say most of their names aloud. Nachos were awesome! I really liked the bartender — a no-nonsense kind of guy who is obviously very good at his job and can mix a drink in about 10 seconds flat. The place was all decorated for Christmas during our visit, which was lovely.

Sat at the bar and had a great time! The birria tacos were delicious and the perfect portion, had the red sangria with that and it was perfect. Rueben was the bartender and made a killer espresso martini for me to pair with the churro cake! Pricing is amazing with the quality of the food/drinks, definitely recommend! Didn’t take pictures of the birria tacos because they were gone in less than five minutes lol

Hi Im A Flying Person

Came here a few months ago with my boyfriend while on a day trip. We started off with chips and salsa which were good. I didn’t like it at first but the more I ate it, the more it grew on me. I don’t remember the name of our appetizer but we both liked it. For our meal we had birria tacos. They were pretty good. The service was great, our server was so nice and welcoming to us. I would come here again.

White Oak Tavern (Chicago) serves elevated American comfort food with a focus on seasonal, local ingredients. Highlights include the duck burger, bone marrow, and craft cocktails. The cozy, wood-accented atmosphere is perfect for dates or small groups. Prices are on the higher side, and it can get busy on weekends. Great for foodies and whiskey lovers looking for a refined yet relaxed dining experience.

Its our first time here and i wish we found it sooner! Such a chill spot with affordable drinks and surprisingly great food! Came here with 4 friends, didnt wait to be seated, got our drinks in less than 2 min and our food came in less than 15 min, even though they were pretty busy. Its the only spot in what seemed like all of boston that served food past 1am (1:30am kitchen closes). The wings and ribs were shockingly great for a Mexican Cantina. Meg and Ruben worked the venue like a symphony! We will 1000% be back anytime we come to Boston!

If you want something different yet AMAZING than the rest of the area (only pub food or Italian/north end), come to Alma! Best AUTHENTIC Mexican food in downtown Boston, HANDS DOWN! The birria tacos & quesadilla are my fav, but also, don’t sleep on their Ramen! Finally some fairly priced drinks, with service that doesn’t make you wait a crazy amount of time. The staff make you feel seen and take the time to explain what items are instead of saying “good”. They just added Golden Tee, which is a great way to spend an hour. In an area of so many tourist traps, this spot and its regulars more resembles a Boston bar than any other cheap trick that falsely claims to be th oldest or first blah blah blah, when it’s simply just not true.

Disgusting place. Mice crawling around on the floor. One particular mouse named “Sean” watched us eat. The waitress bullied me into putting my bagel with cream cheese from Dunkin Donuts away even though my acquaintances ordered a copious meal. 5 stars

Alma Cantina has the best birria tacos I've had outside of Las Vegas or California. Seriously flavorful, perfectly cooked - I need to go back to try everything else on their menu because those blew me away.

There are seldom few times you get to spend a transcendent evening in a place with great food, better drinks and even better service - and this place is one of them. If you’ve never been here before, please request a server named Megan - she truly turned my dining experience from an impromptu jaunt for tacos and a cold beer to a holistic healing journey that truly may have saved my soul from eternal damnation.

Alma Cantina is pure magic—a vibrant, soulful love letter to Mexico that I can’t stop raving about. The food is phenomenal: bold, balanced, and bursting with authentic flavor, every bite a celebration of craftsmanship and care. The service is warm, intuitive, and downright joyful—our server anticipated every need with a genuine smile, guiding us effortlessly and surprising us with little touches that made the night feel special. The atmosphere wraps you in color and life: vivid murals, twinkling lights, and an energy that’s electric yet intimate, like the best backyard fiesta you’ve ever crashed. Alma isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience you’ll leave grinning, already planning your return.

OK food. Went before dinnertime and the bartender had to do double-duty of tending to drinks and tables. Music was terribly loud.
