Had a disappointing experience at Amar. We opted for the tasting menu and wine paring. Our amuse bouches were served in quick succession, then we proceeded to wait. We watched the table across from us, sat 15 minutes after us be served 2 courses. Then chef Mendes sat down at that table with what appeared to be his wife or girlfriend and her friend and chatted with them while we continued to wait for our food. Excellent service and great food. Taylor saved the day when I incorrectly made a reservation for the following day and was still able to accommodate the party. Would highly recommend this restaurant
Beautiful space with amazing views and friendly service, but the food and cocktails were very disappointing. Skip a meal at Amar and enjoy the view (plus a deck) over better drinks at Long Bar.
