We sat in the middle of the dining room and the door opening and closing made us very cold. It was a cold day but the kids had to eat with their jackets on. So did some adults. The service was great but the seating leaved a lot to be desired.

We went for brunch, reservations available, parking was easy in their lot, staff friendly, everything was clean & everyone was very happy with their orders. Given it was brunch, I'm sure it was much different from an evening where I could see the place being crowded at the bar. Definitely recommend and will be going back

Love this place however the main dinning room from the main door is not very welcoming or warm. Things could be rearranged to make it better so that you want to come here for something special .

We’ve driven past this place so many times on our way to somewhere else. Today, we were fortunate to have theater tickets down the road, and dinner was in walking distance. In business since 1890, how could we not try it? It’s warm and friendly inside, and felt immediately like a classic tavern that people still enjoy. Our server made me my go to non-alcoholic drink of an Arnold Palmer and it was perfect. I got the shepherds pie special, and my wife got a turkey burger. Fresh and delicious. In the back room looking at old City of Boston photos we met some regular patrons who decided to tell us about the history of the bar. Exactly the experience we were hoping for. Can’t wait to return.

We made the reservation for 6:15 but didn't get seated until almost 7:00. The hostess was very nice and felt bad about the situation. She gave us free dessert and coffee. The food was very good. Our server, BJ was very friendly and efficient!

It's the oldest restaurant in South Boston. Parking is free in the adjacent parking lot. That's a very rare situation in Boston. We enjoyed the breakfast offered by Mul's Diner, from Amerhein's menu. There were eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, sourdough toast, and home fries. The quality was excellent, and prices are reasonable. Amerhein's can expect a return visit by us soon.
It's not easy to find a reservation in Southie on a Saturday night. Amrheins was terrific. Outstanding food and a great value.

I highly recommend the Chicken Pesto Mozarella sandwich it was cooked perfectly and great flavor and their fries were perfect too. Drink menu was a little sparse, some old favorites of mine were not on the menu anymore and I feel there could have been more variety in the drinks but they were good.

Went with some friends for breakfast the food was fine but the service sucked. I asked my waitress for a knife and she responded “do you really need a knife? You don’t need them for scrambled eggs, and you’re almost done with your French toast.” She refused to give me a knife and waters. Short grey haired woman with tats. Disappointing.

The service was not friendly at all and we were intimidated to ask for anything because we were noticed how much any otder annoyed the service member. Everytime we wanted to order an additional drink, we got the stinky eye from the waitress. The athmosphere was just very noisy, but OK. The food was delicious. However, we waited almost an hour for the food and two out of eight orders came out incorrect.
