Came here after reading all the great reviews. Service was good, but the food was not worth the detour. We both had the chicken parm; it was fine, just not great. Given that, the prices were a bit too high.
I’ve been going here for 20 years. Completely get the nostalgia and home-y neighborhood atmosphere. I do not get why the same bartender always takes at least 20 minutes to take my order for a drink and offer a menu. Ignores me and takes else’s order. No eye contact, no acknowledgment.
Stopped in at Anchovies for a drink after work on Wednesday. Cool little divey local haunt. A/C kept the place nice and cool. Got a mixed drink for $12.
A fair amount of seating considering the relatively small size of the bar. Hanging Tiffany lamps.
