I would call this one of the best margherita pizzas in the city. It is difficult to nail such a simple dish, but Antico Forno does it. The crust is exceptional, it has a medium crunch on the outside but is soft and pillowy on the inside.

You can really taste the quality of the ingredients: they use homemade buffalo mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, and fresh basil. It all comes together for a perfect ratio of flavors. This is one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend it.

The food is awesome as well as the staff. They really make sure you are satisfied with everything. I Love eating here and would say if you are visiting the North End and want quality food go to Antico Forno.

Great family birthday celebration in a busy, welcoming, neighborhood restaurant! The wait was fine for our large party of 6 and our server was great - arriving whenever we needed anything. Each of us enjoyed our dishes, while the initial salad was large enough for all to share.
Our server tried to get a birthday cake timed right for our daughter, but things didn't work out - it was if she did it on purpose, hmmm...

Friday night in the summer - ferry into Boston; sounds pretty perfect! Like some of the pics.
Then a casual walk into the North End.

I was truly saddened to see the decline in service quality at a restaurant I visited two years ago. We were even scolded by the waiter, and the food that arrived tasted more like something from one of Italy’s mediocre pizzerias. As a family, we were genuinely disappointed. On top of that, the place was so noisy that you could neither hear your own conversation nor fully enjoy your meal.

Ah... to have a restaurant that feels like home in the North End of Boston - Perfetto! We've been regular diners at Antico Forno -whenever we stay in Boston - for more than a decade. The food, the incredible service and the brick-warm decor and atmosphere continue to be draws for us. Whether seated at a table - the window tables are fabulous, of course, or in the dining room, we've found that ALL the tables feel comfortable and cozy. We also recommend sitting at the bar either for drinks & snacks or dinner - when we were there last ( three weeks ago), Kostas was a most congenial and gracious bartender/host, whose gregarious attention fostered friendly connections with our barstool neighbors as well. It's no accident that we've dined at Antico Forno, we've always left having had fascinating conversations with some fellow diners - the staff at Antico Forno both model and encourage that! Especially memorable and welcoming servers include Ms Donna & Jules - who always treat us warmly and provide interesting conversation and local insights. And we never fail to seek out hostess Julie - who also works at Terra Mis across the street - for a catch-up chat. Looking forward to our next trip to Boston already!

Such a fun experience in the North End. It was like being back in Italy, the ambiance, the food….I sat for hours and enjoyed my visit catching up with my sister.. the bartender was funny and attentive. I will definitely go back!!!

If you’re in Boston and craving authentic italian food, then Antico Forno is the place to go. We went on a rainy night, the vibes were top tier and the pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had since I’ve been to Italy! Felt very welcomed and would definitely visit every time I come to Boston!

We came here on a Friday night, as unfortunately most of the other restaurants in the area were booked up. They were very accommodating in seating us without a reservation. Though they were busy, service was attentive and everyone seemed to be helping each other out.

I however was not that impressed by the food: In their defense we did not taste the pizza ( which they have won awards for). But we did have the salad, chicken main, and lobster ravioli. The food was very mid: the chicken was bland, the ravioli sauce was heavy and nothing special, the salad was very similar to what I whip up in 5 minutes on a weekday . The green beans were decent- good garlic flavor. All of the food appeared to be overpriced for the quality.

The best thing I tasted was the complimentary bread they bring you at the beginning.

It somehow remains really popular - so perhaps we just ordered wrong, but the place was packed. There was a note at the bottom of the menu, that the owner supports a foundation for juvenile diabetes as well as a few other causes , which I did appreciate.

Made a 7:30 pm reservation for 6 people 3 weeks ago….received a text to confirm the day before…I confirmed. Show up at 7:30 and was told they are very happy to have us….however the restaurant is closed for a private party and as soon as it ends they will seat us. Host was rude and really just a jerk….i asked why make the reservation?? He said they will get us in but not sure when….it was pouring rain…told us to go wait in their sister restaurant and they would call when table is ready.
We have been going there for about 20 years and will never be back…
They have lost their way….there is a lot of good food in the North End no one needs to put up with arrogance.

Probably the worst Italian food I’ve ever had. The pasta was well below average — even a simple white sauce pasta was completely off. This place is a total tourist trap with over 2,000 reviews. Don’t fall for it. Nobody said that pasta is great. When asked. I said, it’s okay. I didn’t want to go and tell every restaurant they are terrible unless it’s bad!

May be the reply from the owner here is too harsh as they might be here for decades serving a lot of customers. But I completely know what I am talking about. Probably people who are in good Italian restaurants all around the world know what I am talking about. I also see tons of other people saying the same about your food now. Shows the staff’s personality right here based on reply here.
