I keep trying to like this place but something is always amiss. Ordered take out and all of the sashimi in it was frozen. Not my idea of fresh fish in a sushi restaurant. What WAS thawed out was fine tasting, but not worth the money I spent at all
Really solid spot for the price. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed the sushi rolls, and they were quite affordable. It is also a tight, small seating area but its cute and fun. The service was also decent as well. I would recommend going with the rolls that aren't "special" because even though the special ones are good, and maybe worth a try, the regular sushi rolls are good and give you more value for money.

Very cheap fresh sushi! We were so pleasantly surprised. They had it out to us very quickly as well.

Discovered this place on Reddit. I walked in and was really confused because there are actually four or five food different shops inside.
I think they have good prices, a moderate selection but that is reasonable since they are a small shop. Nigiri tasted decent, as were some of the maki. Overall tastes good enough. Not premium level.

Sushi seemed really off. Not fresh and I ended up throwing it out because I already started feeling unwell.
great food! just wish they gave more toppings for the price

I almost don’t want to leave a review because this is one of the best kept secrets in Boston! Sushi fish tasted super fresh. Prices are unbeatable. Service is lightening fast. I love getting the salmon lovers special. Gluten free folks beware though, they use tempura crunch on a lot of the maki. There isn’t really anywhere to sit, it’s more of a kiosk with just a few bar seats but perfect for take out! I love it.

Very good sushi, very special place with a very small bar to eat. If you want sushi, take it to go because it's very crowded and there are only 4 places. Avana is at the end of the corridor full of other restaurants.

I love and adore this place. Yes, it's very much a hole in the wall, and yes it really doesn't have much seating. You'll probably have a better experience here if you order for takeout as most people do.But the sushi here is legit. And the prices really cannot be beat. I'm forever a loyal customer if they keep these prices.

A lot of the shops in this spot have a hole-in-the-wall vibe. Avana Sushi used to be a go-to spot for me because the sushi was decent for the price. Dining in can be uncomfortable, as there are only a few stools around a small stall, so I prefer take-out. However, you can contribute a drawing to the iconic paper plate wall if you sit down. You can’t go wrong with a spicy salmon/tuna maki roll, but I like the special rolls more, specifically the Spicy Red Sox Maki or Spicy Mountain Roll. Grab dessert from the egg puff lady to the right.
