I went to the Avery Bar for the chocolate buffet, and while some of the desserts were truly decadent and delicious, the buffet itself was much smaller than I had imagined. The hot chocolate and a few of the featured items were excellent, but overall it became overwhelming in terms of sweetness pretty quickly. When the bill came, it was extremely expensive, much more than I anticipated. That said, you only live once, and why not try a chocolate buffet at least once. I probably wouldn't return, though. I also didn't realize that the Avery Bar is essentially a few couches set up in the hotel lobby. I ended up sitting in a corner chair with a small stand to balance my food on, which wasn't very comfortable and didn't feel like a true dining experience. If you're looking for a festive, holiday-season experience, it's overpriced but still enjoyable in that sense. However, if you're going primarily for great food and drinks, I would pass. The service was mostly very kind and attentive, with the exception of the bellman at the front who was noticeably rude .

Chocolates were delicious but service was extremely slow. Waited over 20 minutes for my cocktail and our table was not cleared frequently. We had a party of 6 and the small table barely held our drinks and plates.

Hot chocolate bar experience was truly fantastic. The dessert spread and hot chocolate were delicious. The vibe is also festive! The service staff is very attentive and nice. The pastry chef personally came to our table to ask how our experience was going which was a nice gesture. We loved our experience and had a great time

Hot chocolate at the Ritz is one of our favorite Christmas traditions and gets better every year! Chef Rosette Cox has created an incredible pastry and chocolate display that somehow tastes even better than it looks, and her warmth and joy in presenting it to guests is truly something special. Our server Noelle could not have been more welcoming - she embodies elegance and kindness and made the experience so relaxing. We can’t wait to come back soon and would recommend to anyone!

Visiting from out of town, The Avery Bar was a highlight for my trip when it comes to service and beverages. Joel was fantastic and made my time even better. Going as far as to explain the differences between local versions of drinks. I would highly recommend Avery Bar simply for the service but the drinks were equally as amazing.
