The atmosphere is chaotic due to the long lines, busy business, and difficulty placing orders. However, these issues should be seen as positive, indicating that it is good/fantastic/tasty. Is it worth a 2-hour wait standing up? Yes, it does. I went on a Sunday, the first time on a weekend, and it was busy. As a result, I'll try different weekdays and probably when they open. Suggestion: write down everything you plan to buy so you don't forget, since once you pay, it will be challenging to go back to wait. Go. Buy. Enjoy the ban mih in a very crusty baguette.

I can't speak for the food however it looked like they had a nice fresh variety of east Asian food. I could say their boba tea is excellent. Would def recommend the coffee with boba 😋

Can’t express how much I love this place. I’ve tried other Bahn mi places and they’re good or fine but never as tasty as Ba Le. Love the combo and the chicken one. The chicken is a sleeper. Super flavorful and tender and not basic at all. Love all the noodle dishes and the pork bologna rolls. The staff are all so warm and friendly. Lines can be long and you will smell like the food but it’s so worth it. Prices per item in person are much cheaper than UberEats so if you can go in person and pick up, you should.

I have to be completely honest and say that the grilled pork banh mi and banh cuon I had here were average. Palatable but un comparable to west coast banh mi. The meat was not fragrant and caramelized enough, pickles too mild, and bread slightly dry inside. The pre made foods in the fridge did not look very appetizing to me, but the hot foods looked a lot better. I think there is such limited Vietnamese options in the area that the higher reviews are warranted due to scarcity. Went on the weekend, lunch hour, line by the door and it took roughly 30 min. Sandwiches were order right before the register and they pumped them out fast. The workers were nice and easily changed my order when they misheard me. Glad to have this option if the craving hits, but would avoid rush hour. Found street parking but it was pretty full on the weekend.

9/25: have gone with friends a few times since. Today I ordered through uber eats and while of course on the app it’s like 40 total for three items while the receipt says 32. But anyway.

The combo cold cut banh mi is good, as usual. Haven’t tried the rice yet but I’m sure it’s fine. The combo rice plate was not bad, but it’s likely no one gets it because the beef banh mi is better and cheaper. I didn’t see any reviews on it in the search so I took one for the team. It’s $14 thru the Eats app and probably $12 in store, but it’s a lot of mostly rice. Very filling. The beef seems to be the with same seasoning as in the banh mi. The egg is just salt and pepper seasoned I think, and the pork patty has a little more spices along with vermicelli noodles of some sort. The salad comes with a fish sauce based chili vinaigrette. No picture of the pork combo banh mi since others already got it covered.

2024: Pretty decent sandwich for 7.50 or so. They take cards! Meant to take a pic but traffic was so bad I just ate in the car. Street parking only. Wish prices were post for snack items bc I wasn’t sure what to buy

Ba Le is renowned for offering some of the finest Vietnamese bánh mì in New England, having been recognized by the Boston Globe and the Food Channel Network. The establishment is a destination for food enthusiasts, with its bánh mì crafted entirely in-house, encompassing the bread, sauces, and butter. Prepared with meticulous care, the bánh mì is celebrated for its exceptional flavor profile. Customers from across the state frequent Ba Le to experience their acclaimed bánh mì.

In addition to bánh mì, Ba Le provides a selection of other prepared food items, including eggs, pâtés, boba, and sugarcane beverages.

Huge line but very efficient operation. They effectively have an assembly line of people putting together bahn mi. There were tons of other food items there and I was tempted to try it all!

The bahn mi itself was very good and worth the wait. They’re pretty big but I finished it.

There is limited seating but there are a few tables in the back if you’re lucky to get one.

The young woman wearing a black hat at the bread counter next to the counter she was VERY RUDE. I bought 3 banh mi but the vegetables and spices inside were different. I haven't finished talking about her that she took the ready-made banh mi and gave them to me, including peppers and onions, and I didn't want that. She showed her attitude and then yelled at me why she didn't tell me first, but at that time I hadn't even finished ordering and she took the ready-made one. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE MET HER WITH THIS EXTREMELY RUDE ATTITUDE. Last time my boyfriend and I went together and she did the same early. A GOOD BUSINESS SHOULD ALSO GO HAND IN HAND WITH A GOOD CUSTOMER ATTITUDE. The quality of banh mi here is indisputable but please be polite and respect your customers. There are also many yogurt pots with black and green mold on the surface. It doesn't look hygienic at all.

The bread here is really good, but the young woman at the bread counter is extremely rude. More than once she gave me the wrong bread without listening to my order, and her attitude ruins the whole experience. A place with good products should also have respectful customer service.

a little market full of hidden treasures!
Fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced — I’ve been coming here for years and I truly love it. A must-try spot!
Highly recommend the savory congee, sticky rice, rice cakes, spring rolls, chicken bánh mì, and the freshly pressed sugarcane juice. (You can also buy the same bread they use for their bánh mì, along with different kinds of Vietnamese ham to make your own banh mi at home.)
