An absolute must if you have not been. Food is beyond incredible and service is very kind. I recommend 2 orders of chicken croquettes, shrimp toast, and ricotta gnocchi. Girlfriend had the spirit free “Ferrari” which was delicious and would be great with a mezcal. Will definitely be returning.

Loved this Italian place in the South End, Boston.
Very stylish interior, open kitchen layout.
Small menu, but done to perfection. And they do a killer Negroni: no more needs to be said.

Incredibly disappointed. Walked in without a reservation & were told that we could throw our names into a queue for seats at the bar. Only to find out that the bar staff at Bar Volpe just give them away whenever. We waited 45 minutes only to watch a group come in & take seats in front of us. It’s not as if I sat there & watched it happen without saying something. The staff did nothing. Figure it out.
Won’t be needing a reservation any time soon.

Wow. This is the kind of place where I’m sitting there thinking, “now this is 5 stars.”
It came to light because at some point we heard that 1) they had won a James Beard award (which is on display right up front), and 2) the Culurgiones (Sardinian stuffed pasta) were to die for.
When we arrived, we immediately appreciated the level of service provided - for example, our coats were taken and hung up. The wine menu is also authentic Italian - I ordered a Nebbiolo rosso.
As a party of two, we split an antipasto, a primo, and a secondo. First was an excellent burrata. Second was the famed Culurgiones (pictured) - so pillowy and tasty. Third was the roast half chicken. This was the best roasted chicken we’d had in quite a while. So juicy and well seasoned.
We finished with the tiramisu (tasty, well-presented, and bigger than we thought) and the cannoli (comes with two).
The atmosphere was lovely and so was our server, Paige.
Looking forward to coming back sometime!

I just walked in there asking if the kitchen was and the host confirmed saying to order whatever I want. I wait 10 minutes for service only to be told the kitchen JUST closed. I walked out saying to the host "so much for that".... he didn't apologize...... just a sarcastic " have a good night"

What a lovely place. The ambiance is inviting and can be romantic. The food was very delish. We started with the mussels. I enjoyed the flavor but didn't care for the mayo bread it came with. I would have preferred to have just bread and no mayo. For dinner I had the lamb ragu. It had the best flavor and was rich tasting. My friends got the truffle roast chicken. For dessert I had an espresso martini. It wasn't too bitter and tasted great. I would highly recommend this place.

What an amazing gem of an Italian restaurant 10 mins walk from Seaport district. The ambience, set up, food and most importantly the guys managing the ship. Sublime! Grazie Mille!

We came for the Bilt Rent Day special and the experience was amazing. Environment was a highlight. Food was a 4.25/5 but the experience was very well curated and drinks were a 5/5. Value for the Bilt miles was 5/5

The food is delightful but the portions are comically small. I think as an average sized woman, I could maybe have eaten 2.5 portions of what they consider entrees. Waitress did not offer us advice on how to order based on the skimpiness of the portion size.
