Stopped for breakfast. I would equate it to what you’d get at your local gas station except with a higher price tag. Certainly not worth the money but people in that building pay the prices out of mere convenience.

We enjoyed our breakfast here. Service was fast. Dining area was clean. Fairly inexpensive. I had a bagel with peanut butter toasted and a hazelnut coffee, my husband had a bagel with cream cheese toasted and a regular coffee. He said the bagel tasted like a Thompsons but we both enjoyed them.

Sooooo good! The chicken pesto sandwich is delicious. Big portions, great soups, salads and sandwiches the owners are SO kind. Also great location - right in downtown Boston. Love this hidden gem.
Outstanding spot for Cafe food. visited on sat i believe. the service was very welcoming and sociable.

Boston News Cafe is in 28 State Street. The owners are nice and very customer focused, and service is generally good. The breakfast and lunch choices are varied, quite good and modestly priced. There is a seating area, although most customers pick up their meals. One tip: The soups are very good.

They have some decent lunch dishes (like the fish) but they are inconsistent on what they have and when the food is available. Sometimes it's ready before 1130 am and often it is not. If I go someplace to get my lunch I need to know it will be available as I don't have time to wait in line. Lunch starts at around 11 so if you can't have your food ready by then it's not helpful as it's a waste of time walking over there (especially in the bitter cold.) Maybe it's ok for those working IN the building, but for the rest of us, not so much. And some of the employees are surly and not very nice.

I work in the building and never had a bad meal. BNC is a great family owned local business. Keep up the great service and keep the fresh food coming.
