Boston Sail Loft has a great location and a classic New England waterfront vibe, but the experience was fairly average overall. The food was decent — seafood options were fresh enough but nothing particularly memorable. Service was friendly yet a bit slow, especially when it got busy. The atmosphere has potential given the waterfront setting, but the interior feels a little worn. A good casual stop, but not a standout dining destination.

Clam chowder was the best I’ve ever tasted and the lobster roll for $40 was loaded and also tasted amazing. The fisherman’s fried platter was great though likely more appropriate for 3-4 people. The restaurant seems to have a lot of tables for 2 as we had no wait on a weekend. Next time I return, I’d probably get a lobster roll per person.

We had the opportunity to visit Boston and this place was recommended by Google Gemini and it did not disappoint. I tried the lobster roll and it was extremely delicious. The clam chowder was savory and hit the spot. The butter that came with the lobster roll was perfect and gave the lobster really great flavor. The appetizer that we got was also delicious. The fried shrimp and the fried calamari were fried to perfection and the buffalo chicken was delicious. It wasn't that spicy and was tangy. Overall, really enjoyed the place.

I came here to try some clam chowder and a lobster roll and had a great experience. The clam chowder was absolutely phenomenal. The lobster roll was a little disappointing taste wise but it was packed with fresh lobster and was still great but maybe not worth the price. Our server was fantastic and very friendly. This place is definitely worth the wait!

The New England clam chowder was a delicate balance of briny, fresh clams, creamy texture, with smoky notes from pork. The lobster roll was cold fresh lobster with mayo on a roll. Up to the point it was the best tasting lobster roll that I have had.

We were on the hunt for great seafood and a solid lobster roll when we stumbled upon Boston Sail Loft, and it turned out to be a fantastic find. After a brief wait, we were seated at a table with a beautiful view, which set the tone for the meal. Alex C. took wonderful care of us and made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. The mussels and calamari were excellent, and the chowder was rich, comforting, and unforgettable. Dunking the mussels into the buttery broth was pure bliss. The lobster roll was packed with tender, sweet meat and bursting with flavor. An absolutely satisfying seafood dinner from start to finish.

Long wait time, no reservations, delicious food. A Boston staple. Onion rings are incredible. Loved the calamari. Lobster roll was hefty for the price. Felt like the prices were very reasonable. Clam chowder was amazing, but definitely felt very heavy.

I was visiting Boston for the first time and wanted to try the infamous Lobster and Oysters, and as usual I turned to Reddit where people were going crazy about this place for its budget friendly seafood. I walked in on a Friday night and luckily got a table, it is recommended to book a spot beforehand. The staff at the entrance was friendly and greeted us like they were welcoming us into their house.
I asked the waitress to help me choose between the Lobster mac and cheese or the Lobster Roll. She recommended to get the roll to get more meat and a distinct flavor of the lobster. The plate costed $40 and was full of lobster meat over a slice of sweet bread and a big bunch of their house fries. I got the hot butter option instead of the cold mayo one, expecting the lobster meat to also be hot and freshly boiled. Apparently that wasn’t the case and just the bread was warm, the lobster meat wasn’t hot enough, it tasted pretty fresh but if it was hot it would have elevated the experience. Overall the plate was a lobster paradise with the meat of an entire big lobster, dipping it in warm melted butter could take you to a higher dimension.
Go to this place with a couple of friends who like seafood, so you can order and taste multiple items.
Additional Tip: The only vegetarian options they have are salads which they can customize as per request, my vegetarian friend had to live off just fries that night!

Hands down the best clam chowder I’ve had in all of Boston! And the best part is that they’re open til pretty late. I just happened to be in the area for snowport and was just craving for some clam chowder and seeing how most of the restaurants were closed I googled to see which places were opened around 10 pm and this bar popped up. It was very bustling and busy when I walked in but the staff were efficient and quick enough to keep the line rolling. Was in and out in less 15 minutes I’d say. Wished I’ve tried the lobster roll too but I’ll save that for another visit. All in all, I’m glad that I was able to give this bar a try and I’ll definitely try to seek this place out again if I ever return to Boston.

From the moment we stepped out of the Uber you could tell it was going to be a special experience. When you stepped in the hostess was lovely; very kind man with an extremely warm and welcoming demeanor. Haley our server did a great job of talking about the menu and the city. The warmth of the restaurant I felt in my belly, and my heart! This was a meal we won’t forget.

I have never ever in my life had lobster that tastes the way this did.

And I apparently am not alone in this because the family of 4 next to us; their young son asked if they could come back for dinner. That it’s the best meal he’s ever had!

Keep up the great work. :)
