If you're in Boston and haven't been to Bova's Bakery yet, you're missing out on something special. All the locals rave about this place, and now I totally understand why. This is a true old-school Italian bakery with that authentic charm you just don't find everywhere anymore.
Bova's has definitely earned its reputation, and it's easy to see why it’s such a staple in the community. If you're in the North End, do yourself a favor and stop by.

Late post - visited in October 2024 I felt like a little kid in a candy shop. There were so many options to choose from. We got a variety and to be honest, everything we ordered was dry except for the cannoli. They were good as in flavor wise, but tasted days old.

Great calzones and a huge selection of pastries and baked goods to delight any taste. Right next door and across the street from other must stop places in the North end. down in the neighborhood a couple of minute walk from Mike's and modern, well worth the detour. It seems like in most of the North end establishments, you're there for the food not the friendly wait staff, so don't expect nice counter help with lots of patience, just know what you want. ::: update 12/31/24, place was super busy around 4:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve day, staff was helpful and pleasant.

I visited Bova's Bakery last night with friends and purchased 3 chicken croissants. To our dismay, we discovered mold inside all of them. When we contacted the bakery that night, they suggested it might be spinach and advised us to speak with the manager in the morning. Upon calling the manager the next day, they were dismissive and told us to call back again tomorrow. This lack of concern for food safety and customer service is alarming. Be safe guys.

The photos show the quality of the food served. Fungus on chicken, so unsafe. Have communicated the issue to the restaurant they informed we will have to speak with them in person for a refund or more food but then on further insisting they said speak to the manager. Already feels like negligence on their end. Be careful eating from this place

Love love love Bova's! Their cannolis and cakes are amazing! And you can come any time since they're always open 24 hours!! Quick service even if there's a line and amazing chocolate bombs, Boston cream cakes and cannolis!

Shame not as fresh as it used to be. The calzone was solidified. Sweets are just sugary with no attractive flavors or spices added to them which is necessary for a fine pastry product.

24/7 open delicious treats. Best bakery in Boston. Unfortunately, you have to wait in line for an hour if you go in a busy day.
The pistachio cannoli was brightly coloured green with zero real pistachio flavour but instead with a strong cheap tasting artificial pistachio flavour. Other cannolis and pastries were low quality. This bakery does not deserve its high rating.
I highly recommend the Boston Crème.
