Excellent meal!! Great menu, friendly staff. Will be back!
It was very delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you for the amazing evening Kim and the rest of the crew:) best regards from Switzerland
I ordered a bowl of their clam chowder and the beet salad. Both were good. My husband ordered the salmon which was very fishy tasting, but also seemed to be doused in a lot of soy sauce or something of the sort. Maybe it was a little old? Anyway, He did not enjoy his entrée very much at all so we basically split the salad and the soup.
Broadside is basically a sports bar/tavern serving pretty good food. We had the clam chowder soup, apple/goat cheese salad, fish and chips and sesame chicken salad. The clam chowder soup is excellent, one of the best we’ve had in Boston. Our server was excellent.
Five adults and two kids just wanting a nice little lunch and a drink after visiting the aquarium. When we walked in there was NO ONE in there so I said, “online it said you were open. Are you open yet? The bartender said, “you can’t always believe everything you read online.” He then grunted, and sat us at a table. We did offer to come back, but he said it was fine they were open, but he was alone. He went around the table, taking our drink orders; a coke, a water, a martini…The waiter/bartender let out a sigh with disgust on his face (as if I ordered a 71 ingredient commonwealth cocktail). We apologized for being such an inconvenience and got up and left. I gave a one star because there was no option for a zero.
Late flight - staying at Dagny, 18 mins. until kitchen closed and they went out of their way. Really solid service 5/5
Burger was cooked perfectly
Nice pub with good food and drinks. Large selection of beers on tap.
Food was average (although the clam chowder was deliciosu). Bloody Mary was good. Overall good food, just nothing above average.
My husband and I had dinner at Broadside Tavern since we were staying next door at The Dagny Hotel due to the convenience of its proximity. We were seated almost immediately and requested to be put somewhere away from the door since it was so cold outside and the hostess gladly did so. Our waitress was sitting in the booth behind the one we were placed at having personal conversations with the bartender and some of the customers at the bar and she took her time coming to greet us and taking our orders. Luckily, we weren’t in a hurry but it did make it feel as though our business wasn’t super important. Once she waited on us, she was very personable and courteous, however. My husband and I both ordered the clam chowder and it was amazing! I think I could’ve only eaten that and left full and happy. We did order the steak sandwich and Reuben as our entrees. The Reuben was tasty and flavorful and the French fries were crispy and well seasoned. My husband said the steak sandwich was cooked well and easy to eat, but could’ve used some type of sauce or other seasoning. He really liked the soft bread it was on. The atmosphere is nice as long as you understand it’s a bar and the patrons may get a little noisy. I would definitely eat there again and would make sure I ordered the clam chowder. Yum.

They need more than one waiter in the place, every table was full and he was by himself. Food was good though!
First, rude hostess. Single diner trying to grab an early lunch at noon, I asked for a table by a window. Despite the place being empty, the hostess let out a loud humph! and said 'those are bigger tables' and acted blatantly annoyed when she sat me. Second, I specifically came here because they had a pastrami on rye on the lunch menu on their website. Apparently that is no longer served and not on the current printed menu. I thought about the rude service and disappointing menu for a couple minutes and, since no one had bothered to take my drink order yet, I got up and left. Good riddance. Plenty of other pub options within a couple blocks.
Good Drinks.
Delicious Food.
Nice staff.
Everything was perfect.
Thank you!
I had high hopes for Broadside Tavern, but this place was a complete disappointment. The beer was downright skunky—clearly old or improperly stored—making it undrinkable. As for the food? Completely tasteless. Every dish we tried was bland, poorly seasoned, and utterly forgettable. It’s like they put in zero effort in the kitchen.
There are plenty of great spots in the area—save your time and money and go somewhere that actually values quality.
1/5 stars, and that’s being generous.
Good selection of food and drink, the flatbread pizzas are incredible!
