this place was sooo cute! The fish tanks and the really cute butterfly art on the wall was the start to an amazing meal! The food was soooo good!!! I will definitely go back if I am ever in the Boston area!

This continues to be one of my favorite restaurants on the BU campus. If you go I highly recommend any of the curry dishes, and the Thai iced tea.

The place looks amazing, great atmosphere.
Unfortunately, and series of unfortunate events was the theme of the night. My wife's entrée had a problem and was tasty, but not entirely edible. They took the dish away.
Our server forgot to put in my order. I sat next to my wife in solidarity, both of us without food. We at least had wine to drink while others finished their food.
When the server finally realized I had no food, she put in my order right away despite my telling her not to. She said it would come out fast. I have food allergies. Kitchen missed the server's notes. Or maybe no notes were made, despite me telling the server specifics.
My food came out fast, and I couldn't eat it. Full of the allergens we discussed. More apologies.
We finished our wine and left. They took the failed dishes off the bill, and gave us free dessert.
I'm sure this was an off night, given the good reviews that brought us here in the first place. And everyone that had food said it was delicious.
Our server was very nice, very, very apologetic. The other people in our party enjoyed their food.

Been coming here for many years. Miss their Cambridge location, but worth the drive into town. Always delicious food, friendly and competent service. Family with picky eaters but we all agree on going here for dinner. Everyone leaves happy and full. Great place for special occasions, family dinners or a quiet evening for two.

I am a sucker for Thai food and anything sweet! I love their friend sweet bananas, ice cream, and Thai iced tea. Also, drunken noodles are so delicious! SO tasty! I began visiting this place during my undergraduate studies. Such a fun place!

I’ve been coming here for years and this is my favorite Thai restaurant.
Food is consistently good. If you enjoy heat, they don’t dumb it down here. Panang curry, drunken noodles, tod mun and tofu laab are some of my go-to’s. Their menu is extensive, you’ll find a nice mix of more traditional Thai dishes as well as more familiar.
Staff are warm and hospitable. Beni (forgive possible misspelling) is a gem.
Bonus: The fish tanks are lovely as are the numerous plants.

If you’re considering Brown Sugar Cafe for a night out, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. While the food was passable (standard Thai fare, nothing special), the service was hands-down some of the worst I’ve ever experienced.
We were first served the wrong dishes, which meant we waited nearly 40 extra minutes just to get what we had originally ordered. By that point, any enjoyment of the meal had already soured. To make things worse, the staff’s attitude was outright dismissive—cold, unwelcoming, and completely uninterested in whether we were having a good experience.
The final straw? Being pushed to finish quickly because “the table was needed.” After waiting so long for our meal due to their mistakes, being told to hurry up was insulting and unacceptable.
Between the careless service, unprofessional management, and lack of basic hospitality, this place left an awful impression. The food might be “fine,” but no dish is worth putting up with that kind of treatment. Never again.

A very cute Thai café-style restaurant with a cozy vibe. The Thai iced tea is absolutely amazing, probably one of the best around. Loved the Pad Thai too, and it’s great to see they offer good vegetarian options. Service was prompt and friendly, making the whole experience really pleasant. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Thai food in Boston!

This is the best Thai food in Boston, period. Comparing Brown Sugar to other Thai restaurants is like comparing Mike Tyson to a backyard wrestler. The menu is so vast that you can eat here for years and never get bored. I would suggest the Hawaiian fried rice, the soft shell crab Pad Thai or the Chili Duck for basic good stuff. I've been impressed with all their soups and the larb dishes. The grapow noodles will send you to the afterlife. If you like spicy, this is the place for spicy. Eat here three meals per day for the rest of your life.

Had a great time here. The menu had lots of selection which i really appreciated. It would have been nice if they were able to highlight the gluten free options on the menu, but I was able to ask the waiters about it. My Lady in Green dish was absolutely delicious, probably the best yellow curry I've tasted in a dish. The prices were fair as well. The spice level is authentic, so be prepared if you order something spicy. I also enjoyed my Thai iced tea. Friendly service.
