Fun little Mexican restaurant in a nice neighborhood. Our server was new (or so we thought) so the service was sub-par with one our friends getting double charged. Manager was accommodating. El Diablo margarita was the standout.

Decent spot for Mexican food in the south end. The back porch section is a cute spot, and the bar is quite nice. Usually not too full either.

The service it was super slow, very unprofessional and dark. Food took over 30 minutes and was cold and very poor flavor.

I used to have brunch every weekend at burro bar south end about two years ago. I went back today and the food changed. The chilaqueles were definitely different. They no longer have the short rib tacos or the wings. Their charro beans also taste differently. So disappointed. Not coming back. Not worth the price.

Great food, and tons of options. Vegan choices were a bit limited, but the chef personally wrote out all the food that could be easily made vegan and it worked out well.

I ordered the burrito max with barbacoa meat. The barbacoa burrito did not have barbacoa meat. Instead, the burrito had dry roast beef. The guacamole, black, and brown beans had no taste at all. Huge let down! Not visiting this burrito place ever again.

Service ?♂️
The service at Burro Bar South End was energetic and attentive. Our server, brimming with enthusiasm, ensured we received our orders on time and were well taken care of throughout our meal. Although I felt he could have checked in a bit more frequently, his overall attentiveness and vibrant personality added to the positive dining experience. ????
Decor ?
I have a particular fondness for places like Burro Bar South End, which strike the perfect balance between upscale casual and cozy comfort. The ambiance is lively, with reggaeton music setting a vibrant tone in the main area. The semi-patio room is a standout feature, offering a covered space that remains enjoyable regardless of the weather. The decor is tasteful and homey, steering clear of overly stereotypical themes. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and welcomed. ?????
Food ?️
The food at Burro Bar South End hit all the right notes for me. The menu offers appropriately priced dishes with generous portion sizes and great flavors. I opted for a taco salad, which was delicious and satisfying. My girlfriend enjoyed two tacos: Sirloin Steak and Swordfish al Pastor, both of which she found wonderful. Our friends ordered enchiladas and a chimichanga, and while I didn’t get photos of their dishes, they seemed very pleased. The food is good to great—nothing overly fancy but perfectly executed. ?????
In Retrospect ?
Reflecting on our visit, Burro Bar South End stands out as a fantastic dining spot in Boston. The energetic service, welcoming decor, and delicious food make it a place I’d love to revisit. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal with friends or a lively spot for a date, this restaurant ticks all the boxes.
