Has some tasty vegan options. What we found lacking was the service. We ordered appetizers and entrées and they all came out at the same time. One of our side plates had not been cleaned properly, and the server didn’t let us know what was not available on the menu before giving us time to decide and order. Multiple items we wanted were not available and we were only told after we tried to order them. The kicker was that the staff didn’t really seem to care. They just shrugged everything off. But the food was tasty! Updated from previous review on 2026-03-01
Waited over an hour for food even with a reservation. we asked for water when we arrived and didn't receive it until after we ate after reminding our server multiple times. We spent about $100 there and it was definitely not worth it for 2 entrees and 2 non alcoholic drinks. Overhyped for sure.
Cafe Landwer - Back Bay is excellent! Good food, large portions, fair prices. I'll be back again shortly.
Took my daughter in to the city for a girls' trip and we were very excited to try a new to us brunch spot. We showed up early for our reservation and they were able to seat us,but that's basically where the positive experience stops. We sat there, right next to host stand might I add, for almost 15mins before I got up and asked if a server was going to help us. A few minutes later one finally came over. We placed our order, took another 10+ mins for two drinks to be brought to us. No water was offered until AFTER the food was delivered nearly 40mins after we were sat. We asked for an extra plate for my daughter , took close to 10mins for her to bring us a side of ketchup instead of a plate. All in all very sad that our brunch wasn't everything we hoped for. I'm sure the food would have been delicious if it wasn't cold. We ordered the house specialty Landwer Pancakes.
Mediocre food and poor service.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Café Landwer, and I must say, it was an experience to remember! Their famous fluffy pancake breakfast is truly something special. Each bite was a delight, with pancakes so soft and airy that they practically melt in your mouth. Topped with fresh fruits and a drizzle of maple syrup, it was an absolute treat! 🥞 To complement my meal, I decided to try their Belgian hot chocolate, and wow, it did not disappoint! Rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet, it's easily one of the best hot chocolates I've ever had. A must-try for anyone who loves chocolate! 🍫 What stood out even more were the friendly and attentive staff. They made us feel right at home, ensuring that our experience was nothing short of fantastic. It's clear that customer service is a top priority at Café Landwer. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I can't wait to go back!
horrible service. my fiancé and i were sitting for over 15 minutes and we still hadn’t been greeted. even the table that got seated shortly after us was visibly annoyed.

Food was great, very fresh. I had a Nutella latte and it was delicious! Waffles and hummus were another fav! Staff was not very friendly and didn't check in on us, had to get attention multiple times

First time there, would return. Good Shakshuka but a huge portion of bread that's was too big!
I ordered “pasta” with mushroom as it was written in a menu which had to be real pasta.
Instead I was brought ramen noodles (cooked for about 50%) heated up in a microwave mixed with mushroom souse. Maybe in the US it’s a normal, but for Europe its nonsense. But even for the US it had to be cooked pasta.
