Very disappointing experience. My friends and I were waiting while our friend was ordering a drink (mind you she was the first person in line and it took 10 minutes). It was freezing outside and the café was nearly empty. Despite this, a staff member told us to leave because we hadn’t bought anything yet. I’ve never experienced something like this in my entire life.
As we were leaving, we overheard the staff member call us “loud and annoying” (the girl stocking the granola bars on January 11th 2025 around 2:00pm) which was completely untrue and very unprofessional. We were respectful the entire time. This felt unnecessary and unwelcoming, and it’s not the kind of service I’d expect from Caffè Nero.

Very unpleasant experience. We were told to leave while waiting for our friend to get her drink (which by the way took 10 minutes despite there being no line), when the cafe was mostly empty. As we exited, a staff member was heard bragging to another staff member that they kicked us out for being “so loud and annoying”. This was inaccurate and inappropriate, as we were having a normal conversation at a respectful volume. We were courteous throughout, yet the staff acted childish and rude. I honestly was thinking it was a cute cafe but now I will definitely never return.

Nice place to get a proper cup of coffee and enjoy it in comfortable atmosphere. Great place for meet up. It is like Starbucks 15 years ago before they messed up everything. Freshly tasty baked goods. I had cappuccino and blueberry muffin. It was very good.

Overpriced, but what’s new. Came across a cashier that likes to jump to conclusions and misread things.

A good spot to study. The coffee is good too. Only thing is that it can get pretty loud when they have their aerobics class going on above.

Great place to study, work, bring a date… but please tone down music volume a bit. The thing about all Southie establishments that I don’t like is blasting music - makes it difficult to do any of the above. Hence the one star less!

Great service and selection of drinks. Very spacious and thoughtful layout, with several distinct seating areas with different table/counter types. Great for grabbing a coffee and catching up on some work.

When you pay by credit card, there is no option not to tip. Since when is tipping for a take away coffee mandatory?

I can’t say enough about the great atmosphere and kindness of the staff. Every time I order there is so much care that goes not only into making delicious drinks, but that the entire experience is great. Today Tyler hooked it up with an amazing latte! Thank you!
