The very FIRST place we went when we arrived in Boston was CHEERS. I was so looking forward to it, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great, the service was extremely friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, the beer (of course) was refreshing, and the SWAG was iconic. We enjoyed the "Frasier's Chicken Panini", and the "Sam's Turkey Sandwich". Both were excellent and full of flavor. A generous helping of crispy golden fries and a large pickle slice covered the rest of the plate. After dinner, we LOVED shopping the merch store. So, just so ya know, the main CHEERS pub on the street is small and NOT where they filmed. That's next door and upstairs. So DON'T MISS IT! There's another merch shop up there as well. So, the stairs going DOWNstairs from the sidewalk on the street level go to the actual pub where you eat. The stairs going UPstairs from the sidewalk at the street go to the TV pub.

My friend & i were visiting from out of town. We decided togo to Cheers on our final day to have a bite to eat. I'm 55 years old & remember when Cheers first made it's debut on TV back in 1982. I was a big fan of the show & even though i knew this location was used for external shots i thought i can't pass up the opportunity as i don't make it to Boston often. In fact this was my first time visiting. After eating we went upstairs to the gift shop where there is a full mock up of the Cheers set. We were the only ones in the room & i thought it would be hilarious to have a picture of me behind the bar at the taps pretending to poura beer as if serving a customer. Talk about harmless. The opening to the bar was not blocked off & no signage. I grabbed a glass as they had a pile there & went behind the bartoward the taps when this older lady who did not identify herself but appeared to work there in some capacity came in & read me the riot act & told me to stop immediately & come out from behind the bar. Having been in Public Transit for almost 3 decades & having used de escalation tactics many times over the years, her approach was exactly NOT what to do. I recommend training or re training for this lady in the way she interacts with the public. Also block access to the bar opening as the lack of such implied it was ok to go behind the bar. Have signage in place as well saying it is prohibited to go behind the bar. Finally i would like to say to this lady, relax why don't you? It's only a mock up of a hollywood set lol!!?

My first time here even though I've walked by this place numerous times. It is pretty big inside even though it doesn't look like that from the outside. It is geared towards tourists and they have a lot of "Cheers" paraphernalia around. We got a hamburger and a cheeseburger along with 2 beers (came upto 70$). Food was pretty good and the service was quick. It was interesting seeing the set bar upstairs. Overall it was a good experience but I may not necessarily visit again.

Enjoyed my visit. If you loved the show, you'll love the place. There is a set next door you can take photos in along with a gift shop. Prices are reasonable. I think I paid about 16 for a bowl of clam chowder with lots of clam meat in it. They have mug sizes and the option of a bread bowl as well. The local hard cider was delicious. I will return again.

While it may be a tourist trap, if you love Cheers it's worth stopping at. I visited on a particularly cold day in January, so didn't have to wait at all and didn't experience any crowding at all. I expected the drinks to be upcharged since it is geared towards tourists, but was happy to see it was pretty standard prices for Boston. Had a good time sitting at the replica bar and talking with other visitors. I believe there's also additional seating downstairs, the place is huge and definitely bigger than it looks. Lots of show memorabilia all around, and they have a gift store in the back. You can buy a glass to take home at the bar, it's cheaper than if you buy it at the gift shop. Didn't try the food so can't speak to that, but it looked good.

A Boston classic. Food is decent, no vegan options. Drinks are great too. People are fun here.

I HAD to stop by here!! I had a quick drink at the bar. It's open seating at the bar or you can sit and order food. During my quick visit here everyone was so friendly and just wanted to enjoy their time. It's a full bar so you can have any drink you want. There's a gift shop within the bar and if you go upstairs into the hotel you can see the set of Cheers and visit the store.

Cheers is one of those classic "must see" or at least stop by if you're touring Boston/you've got friends in town who have never been here and love knowing what was filmed in Boston. They've got lots of Cheers memorabilia spread between their multiple rooms. You can go upstairs or downstairs for drinking. The downstairs is more of a dark, dingy type bar vibe. Upstairs is more lit up from the natural light of the windows and feels a little more spacious. Of the two, I'm not sure if one is the literal set from Cheers (because I've never seen the show before) but I liked the two different vibes you can go after here! All in all we had a great time grabbing a beer here. Even as non Cheers-watchers it was fun seeing people come in and react to some things that they recognized from the show. The gift shop was a little small and the best part was having some pictures from the show out on display so even if someone just so happens to stumble in, they know the relevance too. Cheers!

Check it out, snap a pic, buy a souvenir. Worth a quick stop for pop culture purposes and that's about it. If you're visiting Boston, you'll probably end up in the area anyways since it's just across from Boston Common.

We enjoyed our visit. Typical cheap, but expensive bar food. We had the appetizer mix of 3 @ $24.00. Includes x3 of each - half potatoes (bacon/cheese) - celery/carrots - wings - cheese sticks - onion rings - chicken strips (frozen type). Atmosphere was fun, people interacting, laughing and everyone knows your name. Yeah, it's over the top with trinkets to buy, but it's Cheers! Recommended

Positive: very little. The cool thing was the atmosphere. Everything else ruined it. Now the rest of it. Food is very expensive for bar food. Offensively expensive. Food was not very good either. Clam chowder is overrated. It's like drinking heavy cream. Pricing on it is messed up. A mug was 15.99 and a bowl is 16.99. Turkey burger was dry and cold. Fries were stale. Wedge salad was the best thing for $15. Service was awful. I'm patient with waiters because I'm related to the industry but the waitress attitude was not nice. She never checked on us for quality of food or if we wanted more drinks. For the prices it should be like fine dining... This was a one time stop for us. Cheers!!!

I mean... it's really a 2.5 or 2, but that's only because the downstairs bar was inaccessible due to a private function. But, I can't blame the joint for the timing. Also, the "set bar," which is inside and on the main level, was WAY too packed for any reasonable amount of time to get a table. Because it was a Saturday, football was on, so I doubt anyone was moving any time soon. Still, it is a neat tourist trap--I mean, DESTINATION when you're in Boston. You can walk through the set bar while you're waiting, even though it doesn't really look like the set from the show. Only if you squint, perhaps. The prices were actually not too outrageous, given you're in Boston and it's a tourist spot. Still too much for a bowl of chowder (yes, I know how to say it), but it could have been worse. I'm glad we stopped by, but it's really one of those "one-and-done" kind of places, as tourist traps go. Maybe you love the food here, maybe the nostalgia is so great that you love it. For me, for a TV show, it's... it is what it is. If you're looking for a cold beer and great food, there are WAY better places to go in town.
