Chickadee is a fantastic restaurant that - somehow - still seems to fly a bit under the radar. But trust me, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality here. The food is excellent, the service is warm and attentive, the cocktail program is spot-on, and while the wine list isn’t huge, it’s well-curated and solid. I had dinner at Chickadee a few years ago and remembered that first visit very fondly, but for one reason or another, I never made it back - until a couple of months ago. From the very first bites, I was reminded why my initial impression was so strong. It may feel tucked a little out of the way, but do yourself a favor: go check it out, and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

I have eaten here many times. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston for menu originality and service. An interesting spin on Mediterranean. Amazingly enough their is often ability to make reservations on short notice. Food is amazing. Ao hard to decide which small plates, pastas and large plates. Very good place to pick and share with friends and family.

We came here for brunch on a Saturday. We made a reservation but it was not necessary. Our waitress was really nice. My boyfriend had the elderberry mimosa, which was tasty. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was cooked perfectly - so crispy and well seasoned. I had the spring vegetable shakshouka, which was I was worried would be spicy and it was not. Our waitress recommended adding a side of sourdough bread and that was a great suggestion (it should definitely come with some sort of bread imo). We really enjoyed our meal. We did ask the waitress a question about an ingredient and she was able to clarify with the chef. We had a great experience.

Service was great, food missed the mark. Chicken was great, duck tasted like some kind of bacon sausage and the gnocchi was terrible. Kids chicken nuggets tasted weird to me but the kids ate them anyway.

I have been to this place twice and I really like the effort of making each dish with some twist. However, the food is too salty and it would taste much better with two thirds or half of the salt. Or at least give customers the option to choose to have the less salty version.

One of the best restaurants in Boston! Dishes I still crave are the beef carpaccio, crispy hen of the woods, and the porchetta. The menu evolves seasonally, while keeping some items as staples. Don't forget dessert, the chocolate semifreddo has the best sweet and salty flavor combo.
All dishes were perfectly prepared. I can't wait to go back and try some others!
